On a day off, I visited Baliati Zamindar's house.

in Worldmappinlast year

After months of continuous mountain, sea and water tours, I was dying to visit some archaeological and historical places. So I came back from the Baliati zamindar's house in Manikganj district near Dhaka, which stands as a witness of the times, cherishing the history and tradition of about 200 years.

We reached the Saturia zero point in two and a half hours by SB Link transport from Dhaka's Gabtali bus terminal straight to Saturia. From there, I went to the zamindar's house after walking a kilometer and ten minutes. I saw a big pond in front of the landlord's house. Going to the other side of it, I saw the two lion statues placed on both sides of the entrance gate of the house and the four huge palaces standing beautifully in front and framed it on camera.

Then I entered inside by paying the entry fee of 30 rupees. All the zamindar premises are surrounded by high walls and entering through the main gate of the zamindar house, one can see the spacious green covered courtyard. Beautiful flower garden has been developed in the courtyard. Beyond the courtyard and behind the four storied buildings are three more palatial buildings. Behind it is a beautiful pond.

There are fine craftsmanship in about 200 rooms of the seven palaces. Each wall of the buildings is about 20 inches thick made of lime-surki, iron sheet and clay. Whose wearer has a touch of beauty. Baliati Zamindar Bari full of unique construction techniques and craftsmanship reflects the nobility of the Zamindars of that time.

On the one hand, the splendor and splendor of the zamindar's house tell the story of its glorious past. On the other hand, there is a flower garden surrounded by various local and foreign flowers and beautiful foliage. All in all, I was invited to see this beauty by hand not once but again and again. Moreover, the mild-quiet noise-free environment here gave me a different kind of travel feeling.

Now let me present to you Brief_History of Baliati Zamindar House.
It is known from history that the Baliati zamindar house was founded around 1790 AD. One Govind Ram Saha was the founder of Baliati Zamindar family. He was a salt merchant in the mid-18th century. Kishorelal Roy Chowdhury, Rai Bahadur Harendra Kumar Roy Chowdhury, among the various legacies of the zamindar family, were famous for their development in the education sector at that time.

Jagannath College (now Jagannath University) in Dhaka was founded by Kishorelal Roy Chowdhury's father and after whom the institution is named. The zamindars of Baliati have left behind hundreds of years of wealth from the first half of the 19th century to the first half of the 20th century, which has enriched the antiquities of the district.

Built on 5.88 acres of land, the Baliati zamindar house is currently being preserved and managed by the Bangladesh Archaeological Department. And in the central block of the landlord's house, a museum has been built in the building known as Rangmahal. This zamindar house is also known as Baliati Palace.
