Welcome to the final part of my adventure in Serra da Canastra. This is the third chapter of this saga, and now I only have to recount the journey of the last two days of my stay there. On the second-to-last day of my trip, I left the campsite where I was staying and headed toward Rio do Peixe, as I mentioned in the first post, the river that runs right through the middle of the campsite. We then followed the river, walking along its banks, mostly over the rocks, until we reached new landscapes and new waterfalls.
Each turn brought a surprise and a view, always a new waterfall, impressive rock formations, and new pools, pools of extremely crystal-clear water, often a bit cold but always refreshing.
Since it has been quite some time since I took this trip, unfortunately, I don’t remember the names of all the waterfalls I visited. But I can say that the most impressive one was the one in the photo below. It had a large pool and a considerable drop, quite intriguing. We spent some time there and even took the opportunity to have a snack.
What I love most about hiking and exploring these trails, especially when searching for waterfalls, is feeling like part of the landscape, part of nature, and being able to observe incredible things like flowers, animals, birds, and butterflies. Have I mentioned that I love butterflies? And also admiring the striking colors of the vegetation, like the bark of this tree.
Relaxing by Rio do Peixe was definitely my favorite activity on this trip. And I took the time to do it several times, whether to admire the beauty of the place, draw, or read a book.
On the last day, we took a drive to visit more distant waterfalls, and the most impressive one had an incredibly high drop. We were able to hike down to the lower part of the waterfall. Unfortunately, I don’t remember its name either, but it was located on private property, and there was a small fee to access the trail and visit the waterfall.
The last day was entirely dedicated to saying goodbye to the campsite and its beauty and mentally preparing to leave it all behind and return to our normal lives. That is always very difficult because, after spending days immersed in nature, going back to the reality of working in front of a computer screen always feels a bit strange to me.
I leave you with these final images, which, to me, are the most fascinating thing in the world. See you on the next adventure.
See ya!!!

This post is pure gold. The essence of travel in some hundreds of words.
I love these waterfalls, the landscape with all these green mountains and the idea of being inside a camper like that 🖤
It seems a place out of time, one of those places where you don't even know what year you are living in.
I really appreciated your job. Thank you for showing.
Greetings from Italy ✌️🤠
