Hello dear friends!

It is with great pleasure that today I will talk to you and reveal a new village that I had the fortune of visiting, and that you might want to include in a future visit if you ever happen to be in the Arezzo area.

In fact, this village is also part of the municipality of Bucine, which I have already mentioned and is located in the province of Arezzo, a very beautiful area of the Val D'Ambra. But certainly, what will immediately strike you about Badia a Ruoti is its fascinating Abbey from 1076, an abbey with an important history behind it and, fortunately, it has remained intact to this day.

Walking through the streets of this village is always like experiencing another time. Although unfortunately, the atmosphere was slightly altered by ongoing construction work in some of the houses, there is usually always a peaceful and quiet atmosphere, and this definitely makes you feel at ease.

I continued my walk through the village and was really able to admire these stone houses. Suddenly, I found myself in front of what seemed to be a church. In reality, it was the entrance to the Abbey, but unfortunately, I learned from a person I met along the way that it has been abandoned for many years and is only opened on certain occasions. A real shame because, as I had read, there are several 16th-century frescoes inside.

As I continued my walk, I noticed that the streets became very narrow, meaning every inch of space had been truly utilized.

I was able to take a few photos from the outside of the Abbey, but it’s a real shame that it cannot be visited because it’s something truly historical and important. It’s sad to think that, over time, it risks deteriorating. Around here, I also noticed the starting points of several trails that provide trekking and nature lovers with the opportunity to take beautiful hikes.

It’s unfortunate that the Abbey is in these conditions because it could become a wonderful historical tourist route, and thus this place would truly become an ideal destination for those who want to immerse themselves in both art history and nature, definitely in a lesser-known area of Tuscany.

I hope that the photos I shared have virtually brought you to this place with me, but I also hope that you can truly visit it in the future. I wish you all a great weekend!
