Hello dear friends,
I always hope that everything is going well, but today I would like to share some photos I took in Padua, a city where I used to work a lot in the past. Lately, I haven't visited much, but since I've built some great friendships over the years and found myself in the area, I dropped by to greet my dear friends. They took me on a quick tour of Padua, and to my surprise, we stumbled upon a very interesting market selling all kinds of items, not just Christmas-related.
As you can see from the photos, there were quite a few people around, and I even had trouble finding parking for my car. I believe most of you are familiar with Padua, a rather important city in Italy, mainly because of its prestigious university founded in the 1200s and the famous Scrovegni Chapel housing numerous frescoes by Giotto.
Every time I come to this place, memories of my first school trip come flooding back. The city is rich in history and art, and as I mentioned, there's the Scrovegni Chapel, practically a UNESCO heritage site for several years now.
I must say that every time I visit, I discover new things. I found interesting palaces with beautiful facades, despite the rather foggy and non-sunny weather. Also, for the first time, I experienced quite a bit of cold. Another interesting attraction that has been a pilgrimage site for many years is the Basilica of Saint Anthony. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to visit that day, as I was told it gets crowded during the holidays, and there might be long queues to enter.
Of course, my stroll was always interesting. I must confess, though, that I prefer small villages, as they feel more intimate. However, it's worth dedicating some time to explore larger cities like Padua, which, I must say, have interesting attractions inside. On that day, I mainly went to meet my dear friends, but I couldn't resist taking some photos to share with you.
I am truly happy to make the most of these Christmas holidays not only to meet dear friends whom I haven't seen in a while but also to discover how the places I have always known since childhood are changing over time. However, one thing is certain – they will never change aesthetically because within these cities, there are always beautiful gems.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post. I know it was brief, but in the coming days, I will surely bring you something more interesting. Meanwhile, I always appreciate the affection you give me, and I wish you all a happy new year.
