Hello dear friends,
In this post, I would like to share some photos with you that I took a few days ago. I took a few hours off work to take a stroll on the beach of Laigueglia, a beautiful town located on the Ligurian coast in the province of Savona. From what I understood and saw with my own eyes, this place is a fascinating seaside resort that attracts tourists from around the world, not just Italians, thanks to its natural beauty and probably its charming appeal.
To tell the truth, I was in Savona for an event, and someone recommended that I visit this place. Although it may seem crowded in the photos, in reality, for a Ligurian beach, there are very few people. We must understand that the beaches in Liguria are quite limited. Those of you who have already been to Italy know very well that they are not very large and not the typical sandy beaches you find on the Adriatic coast.
Nevertheless, its wide bay is beautiful and provides ample space to sunbathe and relax. I also noticed that many people participate in water activities such as windsurfing or kayaking, activities that I hope to try myself, but not here, rather in some mountain river, which I find more thrilling.
A very kind lady explained that for nature lovers, there are numerous hiking trails near this town that wind along the coast through beautiful hilly landscapes.
The sea was stunning, with a turquoise color, and I must say that it is always beautiful in this area. If someone has been following me for some time, they may have seen that I have also shared some Tuscan beaches, where the sea is also very beautiful and clear.
If you noticed in my photos, in the distance, you can see a beautiful church. It is the Church of San Matteo, a fascinating religious building dating back to the 13th century. It is a beautiful Catholic place of worship. Unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to visit it, although someone told me that there are beautiful and important frescoes inside. Due to time constraints, as I had to move fairly quickly, this is the downside of my work—I always have to stay on schedule. I sincerely hope that one day I will be able to travel around my country with more tranquility to be able to see things in more detail. This is a dream of mine that I hope to fulfill.
Sometimes, especially during certain times of the year, my work can be very stressful, but certainly, having the opportunity to see such a spectacular place makes me realize that there are many positive aspects.
Near this wonderful beach, there were also beautiful restaurants emitting heavenly aromas. I'm truly sorry that I didn't get to taste and experience the culinary specialties of this Ligurian area. That will be for next time. At least I enjoyed some sun and got an early tan.
Oh, I almost forgot to give you a tip. If anyone wants to come to this area, I noticed that there aren't many hotels, but there are nice campsites that will certainly be much more affordable than other accommodations available here.
