Hello dear friends,
It's been a few days since I last wrote here, as I have been trying to relax during these days of freedom from work. Sometimes it's necessary to take some time to recharge, but soon I will be able to enjoy my vacation. Fortunately, this morning I managed to make this post because I want to share with you a tradition that takes place every year in Tuscany.
It is a very special event, the "infiorata" of Cerreto Guidi. A charming village near Florence, where you can also visit the magnificent Villa dei Medici, which I highly recommend. Every year, this community celebrates this tradition with an "infiorata" that extends through the streets of the village. I had the privilege of participating in last year's edition, and now I want to share with you the photos I took during that wonderful occasion. The streets transformed into a sea of colors and scents, with flower petals creating beautiful designs and compositions. It was an unforgettable experience, immersed in the beauty of nature and human creativity. I hope these photos can convey at least part of the magical atmosphere that is experienced during the "infiorata" of Cerreto Guidi.
It was very nice to take part in this annual tradition, even just as a visitor, in this beautiful artistic and cultural event where the streets of the village are covered with colorful flower carpets, creating compositions and designs of great beauty. I hope one day to participate as an artist and create some paintings in these beautiful streets, within this magnificent village. For me, it would be a beautiful dream where I could combine the beauty of the place with my art.
Returning to this tradition, the next "infiorata" of Cerreto Guidi will take place on June 18th. It's truly beautiful because the entire community mobilizes to prepare for this event, gathering flowers and petals of different species and colors. The streets are then cleaned and prepared to welcome these floral carpets.
Last year, I was able to see the inhabitants, artists, and volunteers at work, spending hours arranging these flower petals on the ground, creating elaborate designs and patterns. Often, these represent religious, floral, or artistic themes. Every year, they tackle a different theme. This year is dedicated to peace, considering the war events that have occurred.
This event and this tradition take place at this time of year because it is Corpus Domini, the solemnity of the body and blood of Christ, a deeply felt religious celebration in Italy, especially for people of the Catholic faith. But it is also celebrated in other countries around the world, usually about 60 days after Easter.
For example, in the town where I was born, there is an important procession through the streets, while in other places, like in the case of Cerreto Guidi, this "infiorata" is organized. So, if you have the opportunity to visit Italy, I hope that this post of mine is useful to you, and maybe next year, I will be able to participate as an artist too. It would be a true honor for me.

I just learned this amazing and one of a kind of tradition. oh My! What incredible art, the whole street was so vibrant! I love the arts and how the flowers and leaves were beautifully arranged! You're right, it's the Art and beauty of the place combined together!
By the way, do they also proclaim a winner on who's the best art?
No it is not a competition simply the various artists and locals make themselves available voluntarily to beautify the streets of the town
