Hello Hive Friends,
It has been a while since my last post. I think after so many years (6) of pretty consistent blogging I needed a bit of break. Also, I am sad that I missed Hive Fest in Croatia and hope I can attend the next one!
This post and the next few are from my trip to Asheville, North Carolina. I posted about the Biltmore and the Biltmore Gardens. Now I will show you the church that George Vanderbilt made for the people living and working at the Biltmore.
All Souls Church
Stained glass
One of my favorite parts of the church and why I really wanted to go see it was the stained glass. During his life time George Vanderbilt had special stained glass windows made for those that died that were special to him.
West Transept windows
Dedicated to Richard Morris Hunt (the architect of the Biltmore and All Souls Church), Maria Vanderbilt (George's mother), Clarence Barker (George's cousin).
The church was completed in 1896 only one year after the Biltmore.
East Transept Windows
Dedicated to: Fredrick Law Olmstead (Landscape architect), Cornelius Vanderbilt (George's brother) and Paul Ford (Close Friend of George's)
We got there right as the service was ending. The people were so friendly and were happy to show us the church that they worship in each Sunday.
I highly suggest going to this beautiful church if you are visiting the Biltmore.

I love the interior design of this. And looking at the furniture used, it will be of high quality
Hi @sjarvie5 it’s okay to take a break and come back whenever you want.
The church is indeed beautiful, visiting such a place would be such a delight.
A picture that really interests my friend
Thanks Tammy.
I know what you mean about needing a break Sara. Blogging should be something that you enjoy doing, and not having to force yourself to write for the sake of writing.
I hope we can meet again at the next Hivefest!
Yes, I am also seriously thinking about going to England in 2025. I want to see Cambridge and the art in London and the surrounding area. It would be great together when I am there.
