Share Our World: Redwood Forest

in Worldmappin4 months ago

When I think about the Redwood Forest I have a peaceful feeling. It is such a calming and grounding place. I really enjoy going so when Kristen suggested going on our way home from her Birthday retreat I was excited.

Each time I go I enjoy it more and more. The sure scale of the trees is astounding and the varied colors of green is beautiful. What I like the most is that I can feel the forest, like a gentle hug.

The size

Here is the root system of a tree that had fallen over. I am 5 feet, 9 inches tall (175 cm) and the roots were HUGE!

Here are a couple of view of the trees looking up. I get a bit of vertigo when I look up so I didn't do it too often.

As I was looking at the forest floor I found a banana slug. Such interesting creatures! Yes, I did pick it up. I wanted to feel it and just like you would expect, it feels like a slug!

The Green

The variety of shades of green was really quiet amazing.

Here are few more pictures of the forest.

It really is such a special place. I am so glad that I have the opportunity to go when we go to the Oregon coast.

Thanks. I hope you get to see them one day too! Where would you like to visit in the United States?

Oh the west side… Washington state and Oregon would be nice to visit.
I have been to most of Florida and all the New England states. I love them… especially around autumn 🍂 🍁 went on 2 roadtrips around last year and the year before.

Wow what a beautiful forest, I was really impressed by the beauty of nature, every photo of you is beautiful, my favorite place.

Hi @jannatzubair29. I am so glad I could share a place that means so much to you. It really is amazing being this forest!

The diameter of the base of the tree is much higher than yours, it is a giant tree. Forests are always strange and beautiful

Wow!! Those trees are giant! This must have felt like walking through another world! Very surreal :)

Hi Liz, yes it was like walking through another world and so comforting and magical all at the same time.

I can imagine! Is it far away from where you live?

Hi Liz. I took a little break for social media. I live in Arizona, which is very far away. My family lives in Oregon and it is 4 hours away, so when I go visit them we go visit.

oh wow, its very far away. But sounds like a nice area to visit :)

I love the photo of you standing in front of the tree root, it's like a star behind you, lovely!

Ha ha, yes it does. A star among all the grounding trees. A beautiful juxtaposition.

These trees must be millenary by the size they have, certainly a very interesting place to appreciate this impressive nature. Greetings !

Greetings to you @wilfredocav. Yes, the trees are enormous!

Loving the tress
Not loving the slugs. sheeeeeit! No way yeuch OMG

Ha ha. There were those with me that didn't like the slug much either.

I stand with them LOL.

Forest has always been a favorite place to go and explore a lot of new things. These trees are not seen in the city, so we have to go far away.

Yes, we had to drive for hours to get to this forest. I am glad you like to go to the forest too.
