Hello everyone. Yesterday, I shared a part of our Istanbul trip with you. Today I am sharing the second day of this trip. We are quite tired today, where we fit to see many places in one day. Actually, we had just planned to visit Topkapi Palace today. Because there are so many things worth seeing in and around Topkapı Palace, we thought that one day would be enough.
Topkapı Palace was the administrative center of the state for nearly 400 years in the 600-year history of the Ottoman Empire. Ottoman sultans, their families, viziers and many state officials were residing in this palace. In fact, it is known that 4000 people lived in it at one time. The palace is so large that even the smallest details have been thought through.
Near the palace are the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, the 3rd Ahmet fountain, the Hagia Irene church and the Basilica cistern, which are at least as important as this place.

Herkese merhaba. Dün, İstanbul gezimizin bir bölümünü sizlerle paylaşmıştım. Bugün de bu gezimizin ikinci gününü paylaşıyorum. Bir güne birçok yeri görmeyi sığdırdığımız bugün de bir hayli yorulduk. Aslında bugün sadece Topkapı Sarayı'nı gezmeyi planlamıştık. Çünkü Topkapı sarayı ve çevresinde görülmeye değer o kadar çok şey var ki bir gün ancak yeter diye düşündük.
Topkapı sarayı 600 yıllık Osmanlı İmparatorluğu tarihinde yaklaşık 400 yıl boyunca devletin yönetim merkeziydi. Osmanlı padişahları, aileleri, vezirler ve birçok devlet görevlisi bu sarayda ikamet etmekteydiler. Saray o kadar büyüktür ki içerisinde en küçük ayrıntılar bile düşünülmüştür.
Saray yakınlarında da en az burası kadar önemli olan Sultanahmet camii, Ayasofya, 3. Ahmet çeşmesi, Aya Irini kilisesi ve Yerebatan sarnıcı bulunmaktadır.
