After having a great time at the Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP) and making lots of memories, we decided to visit Sharchi village. We talked to local people in the Tirthan Valley and all of them highly recommended visiting Sharchi village. We had also heard about the village from some of our friends and they had some amazing stories to tell.

We went to Sharchi by road. It was a 3-hour journey from Kullu- the largest town nearby. We took some amazing pictures while on the way.

We were greeted by some curious faces on reaching the village
The village was at the mountain top and the landscape was really beautiful. The houses were built around the main ground of the village.
We talked to the lady in the picture and she told us that 40 people lived in this house
The locals say that some of the houses in the village are a hundred years old and multiple generations of families have lived in the same houses

After strolling around in the centre of the village, we took off on some narrow road that lead to the peak of the mountain.
The place got even more picturesque as we gained altitude and hiked towards the top
We stopped at the top where I captured some really beautiful pictures. We climbed up to Jamala village which was a sight to behold
Jamala village had barely 10-15 houses in total. It was a spectacular scene. Imagine what living here would be like.

On the way back, I decided to come back here someday in the winter with my friends and relive all these beautiful moments again. I am pretty sure that Sharchi will be covered in inches of fluffy snow and the view will be unparalleled.
