On a radiant and shiny day, I and my cousin @pranavinaction were laying in the sun and making small talk. We were sipping our coffee and basking in the bright sunshine. The place was surrounded by beautiful mountains and serene valleys. Suddenly, an idea struck my mind! "Why don't we explore the Manali Mountain valley?", I asked. My cousin thought for a moment and said that it was a great idea.
We got ready, packed our bags, bought some eatables, and left on this fantastic journey. We started our ascend during the wee afternoon hours in the heat of the scorching sun. We had tall trees all in our way which were a boon as they protected us from the scorching sun.
We also met a crow while we took a short break during our journey. Crows don't usually interact much with humans but this case was different. We shared some of our snacks with him and he looked satisfied with our kind gestures. In the beginning, the crow was doubtful of our intentions but we slowly built his trust. Patience is the key.
After our short break, we continued to climb the mountain. The views were beautiful and it was worth the climb. On our way, we hiked in a hardwood forest completely covered by tall pine trees. The trees acted as a cover from sunlight and provided shade from the sun. These trees are found all over the region and are known for their brilliant fall colours. They are basically found in high altitude areas and serve as a prominent tourist attraction in the region.
I also found a pine tree cone lying on the ground so I decided to take a photo.
While on our way home, I spotted a pine tree with some resin on the bark of the tree. The resin on a tree performs the same function as platelets in a human body- sealing wounds. Resin has anti-bacterial properties and can be useful in case of any emergency. It hardens on contact with air and softens on heating.
The dense never-ending woods were a thrilling experience to enjoy with my friends. We had lots of fun and spent some quality time together.
On our descent, we noticed a really sad sight. Heaps and heaps of trash were dumped in the forest by the local villagers. The forest was being used as a dumping ground by the local people.
Scenes like these really break my heart. It results in environmental degradation and loss of habitat for wild animals. Can't people be sensible enough to not indulge in such activities? The government officials should definitely look into the issue as the waste material will be lying here for decades without being decomposed. This garbage leads to all kinds of environmental issues and ultimately we only have single earth to live on and polluting it won't do any good.
We finally reached back home at 7:00 PM in the evening. It was a great day and I made countless memories with this place. A highly recommended place for all nature lovers.
