| The history of Toszek Castle probably dates back to the 10th or 11th century, when a wooden stronghold was decided to be built there. At the beginning of the 15th century, a brick castle was built in this place. Then it was destroyed by the Hussites in 1429, but rebuilt by Przemysław Toszecki - a prince from the Oświęcim line, from the Piast dynasty. In the 16th century, the castle passed into the hands of the Habsburgs and was rebuilt in the Renaissance style. After a fire in 1811, the castle fell into ruin after a fire. | Today, the castle is the seat of the Cultural Center "Zamek w Toszku". Entry to its premises is free. For a small fee (PLN 15) you can visit the Historical Exhibition Center. Every year, a knight's tournament is held in the castle, organized by the knight brotherhood, with which I was once associated (over 20 years ago). | Współcześnie zamek stanowi siedzibę Centrum Kultury „Zamek w Toszku”.
