Beni Mellal is a city located in the heart of Morocco, known for its beautiful gardens and parks, as well as its historic kasbah. I had the opportunity to visit this charming city on a recent trip to Morocco, and it was an experience I will never forget.
Upon my arrival, I was greeted by the friendly locals and the hustle and bustle of the city. The first thing that caught my attention was the beautiful architecture of the buildings. The city is known for its traditional Moroccan architecture, and it was fascinating to see the intricate designs and colorful mosaics on the buildings.
I decided to start my tour with a visit to the kasbah, which is a fortress that dates back to the 17th century. It was fascinating to see the ancient walls and the intricate carvings that adorn them. From the top of the kasbah, I had a panoramic view of the city and the surrounding mountains.
One of the highlights of my trip was a visit to the Ouzoud waterfalls, located about 110 km from the city. The waterfalls are one of the most popular tourist attractions in the area and it was easy to see why. The view of the water cascading down the cliffs was truly breathtaking. I also had the opportunity to take a boat ride on the river and see the falls from a different angle.
I also visited the Ifrane National Park, located about 25 km from the city. The park is home to a wide variety of wildlife and it was great to see the different species of birds, animals and plants that live there. The park is also known for its beautiful gardens, and it was a pleasure to stroll through them and take in the sights and sounds of nature.
The food in Beni Mellal was another highlight of my trip. The city is known for its delicious traditional Moroccan cuisine, and I had the opportunity to try a variety of dishes. Some of my favorites were the tagine, a slow-cooked stew made with meat or vegetables, and the couscous, a staple of Moroccan cuisine made with steamed semolina grains.
Overall, my trip to Beni Mellal was an unforgettable experience. The city has so much to offer, from its rich cultural heritage to its beautiful natural surroundings. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and authentic Moroccan experience.
