How My Trip To England Went, A While Back!

in Worldmappin3 years ago

Hello hivers, i am back again, and i want to tell you about my trip to England a while back.

Around 2013, for about 2 years, my Dad stayed in England for a course, which meant i was at home with my Mom for that duration.
It was a mixture of emotions, both of sadness because i was missing my Dad, and of happiness because i was happy for him.
We kept in touch with him a lot, especially on Skype, so i could see him almost everyday.

There were lots of times were i was bored, as we were only two at home, but with time,i started getting used to it.
He sent me a lot of cool stuff. I remember my Nintendo Ds, with games like: Fifa, Super Mario, Rabbits invasion, etc. He also got me a cool iron man glove, a set of Bakugun balls, and many more. I loved them all!

But there was this faithful day, when my mum told me that there was a possibility of us going to meet him over there.
I was so gassed, i told all my friend before it was even confirmed.
We went to the embassy, and were able to get everything we needed to, successfully.
A couple of days before we departed, i packed everything i needed to, and was very excited.

When it was departure day, my Mum and i got ready, and we were dropped off by three of her Sisters. We said goodbye, and boarded the flight shortly after.
We took off smoothly, and got served some plane food and drinks. I remember watching the movie ’bolt’ and i slept off right after.
When we landed, my mum woke me up, and i felt much happier than i had, in a long time prior to that moment.

We waited for my Dad at the airport, because he was meant to pick us up.
We waited there longer than expected, because he didn’t come in time, but the moment i saw him, i ran to him to hug him.
We entered a taxi from Leeds, where we landed, to Bradford, where we were going to stay.
When we got to my dad’s house, it was my first time seeing it, and I liked it. We rested the day of arrival, because we knew the next couple of days/weeks would be a quite eventful.

On the second day of arrival, my Dad took us around Bradford, I remember visiting a mall called Morrison, which had almost everything, and during that period, they were organizing free eye check ups for people, so I took advantage and we decided to go for check ups. I was so eager to wear glasses back then, that I even faked my vision check a little bit, so I will be giving glasses and it surprisingly worked, although now it’s having a little effect on me, it’s still something I will forever remember.

He also took us to see one of his friends who shares the same birthday as me, so we automatically became close, and we still keep in touch until now.

Due to the fact that it’s been for a very long time, i can’t really remember the exact sequence of what we did on each particular day, but i still remember several activities.
Such as when we went to see one of my Mom’s longtime friends in London. If I remember well, we took a train from Bradford to London, and went to their house. We had not seen them in a very long time so she was very surprised to see me, because i was probably a baby when last she saw me, she had three kids who are older than me, and so back then it was hard to get along with them, but we communicated a little bit. I remember them taking me to one of their friends houses, where we played racing games, and built real life train tracks with remote controlled trains, which I had never seen before. We stayed for about four days and I really enjoyed it.

When we got back to Bradford, we went for some outings, to places like: Kfc, next, Tesco, Asda, Pizza Hut, Subway etc, and a few days later, we headed to Leeds to visit one of my Mom’s closest friends, but I didn’t have much to do there because i was the only child in the house. We were there for i think 2 nights, and headed back to Bradford for the main reason we traveled to England, which was my Dad’s birthday.

He was celebrating his birthday, so he invited like three of his friends, and we went to Nando’s, in a place called Cineworld, it’s a very cool place with cinemas, restaurants, bowling centers, and more! It was my first time at Nando’s, and although I can’t really remember what exactly it was, but I remember taking something I had never tried and maybe never even seen before, it was remarkable.

The following week, it was time to say goodbye, it was difficult, as I cried when leaving the airport. I said goodbye to my Dad, and then flew back to Nigeria. It was remarkable, and one to remember.

Hopefully i plan to go again very soon, and i will be back to tell you all about it!

I hope you enjoyed this story, thank you and see you soon!
