Holiis, el día de hoy nos transportaremos a la tan nombrada y famosa Biblioteca Pública Virgilio Barco, ubicada en la ciudad de Bogotá.
Hello, today we will take you to the famous Virgilio Barco Public Library, located in the city of Bogota.
Cuando publiqué fotos en mis estados de WhatsApp es este sitio,varias personas bromearon con que si estaba aburrida ya de mis vacaciones que había ido a parar en una biblioteca, pero la realidad es que no, aburrimiento no fue una palabra familiar para mí durante mi temporada vacacional.
When I posted photos in my WhatsApp statuses on this site, several people joked that if I was bored already from my vacation that I had ended up in a library, but the reality is that no, boredom was not a familiar word to me during my vacation season.
Por más loco que les parezca, este lugar fue uno de los tantos que me recomendaron visitar en Bogotá, así que seguí consejos y sugerencias como con las cosas anteriores y visité esta biblioteca, que fue un proyecto terminado en el año 2001.
As crazy as it may seem to you, this place was one of the many that I was recommended to visit in Bogota, so I followed advice and suggestions as with the previous things and visited this library, which was a project completed in 2001.
Desde lejos podemos apreciar esta hermosa obra arquitectónica, pues su fachada es preciosa y sus alrededores ni hablar.
From afar we can appreciate this beautiful architectural work, as its facade is beautiful and its surroundings not to mention.
Este lugar debe su nombre al ex presidente colombiano Virgilio Barco Vargas, su estructura es circular, posee tres pisos aunque no lo parece pues desde afuera se ve como una estructura baja.
This place owes its name to the former Colombian president Virgilio Barco Vargas, its structure is circular, has three floors although it does not seem so because from the outside it looks like a low structure.
Retomando el tema de sus alrededores, son zonas verdes, amplias, con espacios para compartir y aunque el día estaba bastante nublado y lleno de lluvia, esto no fue impedimento para apreciar la belleza y tomar unas cuantas fotos para nuestros recuerdos y para compartir con ustedes.
Back to the subject of its surroundings, they are green areas, spacious, with spaces to share and although the day was quite cloudy and full of rain, this was not an impediment to appreciate the beauty and take a few pictures for our memories and to share with you.
Como se pudo apreciar en las fotos, fue un día bastante gris, acompañado de mucha lluvia, por lo que no solo nos quedamos en los alrededores de la biblioteca sino que decidimos entrar y conocer por dentro el lugar, donde aprovechamos y nos tomamos un rico café para entrar un poco en calor.
As you could see in the photos, it was a very gray day, accompanied by a lot of rain, so we not only stayed around the library but decided to go inside and see the inside of the place, where we took the opportunity to have a nice coffee to warm up a bit.
Una vez dentro del lugar notamos que habían varios eventos estudiantiles, por lo que no pudimos conocerlo por completo, pero aún así aproveché la oportunidad para escribir unas palabras en un espacio que había adaptado para eso.
Once inside the place we noticed that there were several student events, so we could not get to know it completely, but I still took the opportunity to write a few words in a space I had adapted for that purpose.
Aunque esta visita fue corta, puedo decirles con total sinceridad que fue muy agradable, de volver a Bogotá sin duda iría para poder conocer por completo y admirar con calma las bellezas de este lugar.
Although this visit was short, I can tell you with total sincerity that it was very pleasant. If I were to return to Bogota, I would definitely go there to get to know and admire the beauties of this place.

Esta bibilioteca del Arquitecto Rogelio Salmona está muy bien diseñada! con un esquema distributivo sencillo y funcional! pude visitarla hace 5 años atrás, ese día estuvo bastante soleado, los espejos de agua se veian espectaculares.
Me encanta conocer nuevos lugares y su historia, gracias por compartirla con todos @stephytdh
