To cure your boredom, there's one travel hotspot that would absolutely blow your mind! And although this prestigious establishment isn't completely finished yet (as of this specific visit), it has already spread tremendous waves across the international tourism community. It's only a matter of discovering it for yourself.
Introducing the Nustar Resort and Casino!
Perched on an artificial hilltop inside Cebu City’s historic Kawit Island along the South Road Properties, this magnificent complex is home to luxurious hotels, award-winning restaurants, cafes, and bars, a state-of-the-art casino, high-tech movie theaters, and of course a sophisticated shopping center which is our main focus for today's interesting tour. Join me!
I was traveling with friends when we decided to drop by this novel environment. From the car, we could already witness its imposing facade, standing majestically before the Mactan Channel’s horizon and set against the breathtaking backdrop of cloudy blue skies. We cruised through the ascending driveway and parked our vehicle at the building's upper level.
We intended to pass there because we wanted to check out their modern Casino out of curiosity. And woah! Our high expectations were surely met - it had a richly ornamented lobby that wasn't like any other entertainment space we’ve seen before.
“Let’s pass for now and come back next time to enjoy this awesome joint, okay? I’m afraid my budget isn't enough to splurge here…haha,” I laughed with my companions as we walked straight to the mall access.
“OMG! What a luxurious shopping center!” This was our first reaction. Everywhere we glanced, elegant stores, dazzling lights, captivating architectural finishes, and other mesmerizing objects were flooding the interior. Even the mall’s escalators were fashioned in a manner tailored for royal entourage.
Not all the retail shops we encountered were ready and opened to the public though. Yet, for those that were, visitors couldn’t deny their glamorous ambiance. It was clearly obvious that bulks of money was spent for their construction. Don’t you think?
And as we approached and stepped on one of their glowing escalators, it resembled a stairway to heaven due to the generous amount of golden surfaces adorning the surroundings. Though quick, the escalator ride felt like a grand entrance to a king’s palace. I may be exaggerating, but it was undeniable.
In fact, the colors of gold were literally flooding everywhere. They blended seamlessly with the applied paints, wall coverings, and ceiling surfaces. Our jaws dropped due to the surreal environment we were in. Unbelievable!
“Is that the cinema area up ahead?” Absolutely! I was certainly ecstatic knowing that blockbuster movies on the widescreen were already available for loyal enthusiasts like me.
Even the interior’s geometric profiles were embedded with arched, curved, and rounded shapes. They radiated with the spectacular impressions for the smooth flowing experiences of guests, most especially for shoppers who couldn't resist their highly patronized products and services.
That’s true. World-famous brands like Gucci, Burberry, Montblanc, Tiffany & Co., Versace, Louis Vuitton, and other favorites were already present there!
Apart from those commercial establishments, a handful of stylish coffee shops and impeccable culinary establishments were ours to savor. Not too many people went there during that time, so we had the opportunity to fully indulge in these priceless experiences.
And as we further pursued the inner recesses of The Mall at Nustar, we eventually came across a spacious hotel lobby connecting one of their elite accommodations, an attached hospitality tower. I simply adored how their architectural elements shined with exceptional beauty, showing stunning decorations. There was also a massive bay window where one can visually enjoy the panoramic perspectives of Cebu City’s seaviews and beyond.
And finally, we reached the shopping center’s main entrance. It had a welcoming impact due to the adorable decorations, classy materials. and hanging artworks that contributed to its lively atmosphere. I could just imagine the overwhelming influx of visitors coming here from all over the world once everything is done.
Without a doubt, the owners have heavily invested in this mall’s interior design and overall infrastructure - requiring the Architects, Designers, Engineers, related professionals, and all the supporting staff and personnel to successfully produce a world-class landmark such as The Mall at Nustar.
As of this writing, this prestigious commercial, hospitality, and entertainment destination has most likely achieved substantial completion.
