Well, speaking from experience, on my bike trip across the US, paying $10 a night I found outrageous, $5 just acceptable, while camping for $0 the norm. In this regard I 've always felt okay with spending $25, especially if it got me two nights in a luxurious place like this one. Fortunately, I never had to, thanks to WarmShowers.
Though according to my own WarmShowers guests, in Latin America things change drastically, where everyone is always super eager to invite cyclist to stay at their homes. As for me, I still need to experience this for myself. Can't wait to continue my journey across Mexico... and onwards.
Indeed, recepitivety in latin america is amazing; ppl in Europe are a hella more reluctant. So, you plan to cycle down to South America? I'm thinking about doing the Route 40 in Argentina, just for the sake of doing it.
Thinking...? Planning...? Sure, but not right now, unfortunately. I've got some other irons in the fire, but in case everything fails it's a good contingency dream.
One day we'll meet somewhere to cycle. I just need crypto to boom big time hahaha
The day will come...!
