Knight's castle in the mountains on the peak in Rytro Poland 🇵🇱 🕍

in Worldmappinlast year (edited)

I was in Rytro. It's a small town in Poland, you can learn more about the area from my previous post, I posted photos of the area from a bird's eye view.
Our goal is this point, today I'm taking you to the castle, follow me! 🙂

The castle can be reached by car very close, however, there is a sign prohibiting entry, this may be due to the fact that a river flows through the road, now, as you can see in the picture, it is a small stream. But apparently it is much bigger, there is a lot of water. I went for a walk, leaving the car at the bottom of the mountain, but people kept going.

The aim of our trip is the Medieval Ryterski Castle. It had an observation, residential and defensive function. The entire complex has been reconstructed, but only in part. It was originally much larger, as shown in the graphic outline below.

Celem naszej wycieczki jest Średniowieczny Zamek Ryterski. Miał on funkcję obserwacyjną, mieszkalną i obronną.

The whole approach is overgrown with bushes and trees, and before that there is a forest, on a sunny and hot day it is very good to walk in the shade. Entering the castle, we see a beautiful panorama of the town of Rytro and the nearest mountain ranges of Radziejowa and Jaworzyna Krynicka.

Occasionally special events and family festivities are organized in the courtyard of the castle. The last event took place on August 15, 2023. It was, among others Medieval fashion show, knights' shows, squire's runs, performances of regional bands, fair and history of this castle.

It is also possible to climb the walls of the castle. The whole room is illuminated by a roof window, which you can walk on, it's a thick sheet of glass :)

Możliwe jest również wejście na mury zamku. Całość pomieszczenia jest oświetlona dachowym oknem, po którym można chodzić górą, to gruba tafla szkła :)

Walls and a railing allow you to safely move upstairs. It is also possible to climb to the very top of the tower, but the entrance is only open when events are organized. Unfortunately it was closed when I visited.

It's worth going here, the views are really beautiful. It is a free place, you can enter here at any time. It must also be nice here at night, maybe someday I'll do a sunset or night report.

Simply love the solitude of the castle. It makes you somehow feel more powerful the energy of ancient times when it played such an important role :)

I was there after a long weekend in Poland, so there were few visitors ;)

What an amazing journey you've taken us on with your words and photographs! Your journey to the Mediaeval Ryterski Castle in Rytro, Poland, sounds enchanting. You've captured everything brilliantly, from the stunning landscapes to the rich history. Climbing the castle walls and taking in the view must have been incredibly breathtaking. It's amazing how this castle has been restored while retaining its historical relevance.

And the unique activities in the castle courtyard sound like an excellent way to bring the castle's history to life. The Mediaeval fashion exhibition, knights' demonstrations, and local acts have to have been spectacular. It's fantastic that the castle allows for both daytime exploring and the possibility of stunning nighttime views.
Your courteous invitation to others to come and discover this hidden treasure is lovely. Your photos bring the experience to life, making us feel as if we're right there with you. Thank you for taking us along on this fantastic adventure!

Thank you for the exhaustive comment, for appreciating my work ;)
