Well Hello There Fellow Travelers And Hivers!
Well I decided to take another dive into the long forgotten holiday we had many years ago! I came down some pictures of us visiting a wolf sanctuary. Now getting real good images was hard since we couldn't get up close and personal with all of the wolves, there was a few that were used to humans but there was one den that nobody was allowed into, even the staff members didn't really want to go inside.
I have to say they don't really look that ferocious I find them more beautifull than anything else, but every now and then they give you this stare that really climbs into your soul and gives you shivvers.
With that said I was able to get one or two good pictures but the rest were more bleh than anything, but I will share what I got none the less.
Since then I've been dying to have a wolf of my own and especially an Alaskan Grey Wolf. The thing is where would I get one, I can't really remember what breed of wolves these were but some were a lot bigger than the others. And of-course we weren't allowed in the den's with the big wolves, it might have been Alaskan Grey Wolves.
This one was so fast it was very hard to capture a photo of him, it's a miracle that I was able to even snap this photo of him! He came lunging at me from every direction! It's an even bigger miracle that I was able to make it out of his little den alive!
I suppose growing up in a wolves den can make even the smallest of animals have the most fiery heart!
Hahaha, okay no jokes aside this little beast, well I can not even remember trying to grab a picture of him. But he did seem to be very interested in the camera no doubt about that! So I absolutely had to prop in a few words about this fella aswell!
I wonder if he is still alive or perhaps one of the wolves have gotten him for lunch by now.
Let's dive into what we're really here for, the wolves!
My oh my I wish I could do this whole adventure all over again with what I know now I, I am sure it will be so much more enjoyable! I swear I'd spend the whole day in that sanctuary!
One might think that these wolves would be thick and beastly but they are actually slim and slender. This might be to give them the upper hand when hunting for their prey, they can leap over fallen trees and slip through narrow cracks. Speed and agility is their game.

Now since it was in the middle of a season change their winter hairs are starting to fall out since it is getting warmer, that is why some of the wolves pelt's don't look all that fresh, but if I remember correctly this one was sickly and that's why they allowed people to give her more attention than the others.
The problem doesn't come when it's only one wolf alone it's when they are in a pack lurking about, then things start to get dangerous!
The cool part about these wolves was that they didn't huddle up closely as a pack in their den instead they all had a spot where they chilled and dug out into the ground.
Almost as if you were to be caught in their den that you would have no place to run to, if you go in one direction you run into a wolf if you turn in a different direction you run into one. Almost as if to trap whatever strayed into their den's.
That was scary to think about it like that, if you stumble into the den you are sure to be lunch for them.
As one can see these wolves are perfectly at ease in their environment, but don't for one moment think they will be as calm and peacefull when you step into the den.
The tour guide showed us what he meant by that, two of them stepped into the den and the moment the gate closed behind the second guide they got up on their feet.
What they did was the one guide had his back to the wolves and the other kept an eye on them, can you guess around who they started to circle? Yeah the one that had his back exposed to them, I have to add that they didn't stay in the den for very long.
I mean I would also be somewhat jittery knowing these wolves are circling me! Unfortunately I never got great pictures of that, I was too intrigued at what was happening!
Notice how this wolf is already licking his lips just with the tour guides stepping into the den.
It really is something to behold, the den is theirs and no one else's if you're not a wolf and you're stepping into their territory it's almost like trespassing. I mean what would you do if some random stranger just came stepping into your house?
Even if I have to say so myself, I had the best timing ever!
Now I'm not a very lucky person overall, nor am I an unlucky person but I do tend to find the best luck in the small things of life such as the timing of photos and going for a swim just to have a $20 bill stick to my leg and that is good enough for me. I don't have to win a car or anything big just the small things are more than enough to keep me going and going!
But this is by far the coolest photo I've ever taken (Okay that might not be true but it is certainly among the top)
I'm not entirely sure what that wink means, perhaps he knows I'm taking photos or perhaps he knows that when I step onto his turf it'll be tickets for poor old me.
Whatever the case may be I still deeply want one of these wolves!
I thought I might add the rest of the photos in the folder as well.
I have to add that we only saw around six or seven wolves in the biggest den BUT the tour guide told us that there were fourteen of them inside the den! How frikkin terrifying is that! They hide themselves so well! Also the ones that are in hiding are the ones you should be afraid of because they are the true hunters, the true killers of the pack!
