Hi dear Hive community!

The nature hides so many surprises, that can be found on every little corner of our planet. We've shared so many hikes, paths and sightseeings, but the one which is the closest we kind of forget. Don't know how this happened, as the nature here played a lot including stone, water and wind.

You can reach the stone mushroom from the village of Vrsno on foot or by car. Or in our case with automatic motor that every true village person on the outskirts have. After about four kilometres from Vrsno towards next village called Krn, you will find a small signboard on the right side of the road pointing the way to this unique nature wonder.

From here, it is about a 15-minute walk up the hill through forest path. The stone mushroom is one of the most beautiful geomorphological phenomena of its kind in Slovenia. The "hat", about 6 m in diameter, built of massive limestone, protected the "bet" made of crumbly breccia when erosion carried away the material around the rock.

The big mushroom is here for a very looong time, and definitely it will surprise many new generations as this creation of mother nature are longlasting. The process of erosion is very slow, so we have plenty of time before this will break (if ever).

If you decide to explore more, you can continue your journey towards Krn and the mountain pastures with cows where you can get a taste of cheese, butter or milk.

However, if you are ever visiting Slovenia and specially the Soča Valley, it's really worth seeing!

Thank you for reading! Wish you a lovely day!
