A Great And Memorable travel that can make ourselves having lots of fun and being enjoyable.
Greetings everyone, today as part of my travel escapade here at the Province, I will take you to most relaxing and cool place in Iligan City and this is the Lawis Eco-Park and Spring. This place particularly located at Barangay Timoga, Iligan City. This is truly and adventure one because in order for us to reach the place, we need to walk a few kilometers away from the Provincial road. It is really far from the National Road but despite of that, different kinds of vehicles can pass by here because the road is completely concreted. Aside of that, it is far from urbanized places like houses, commercial establishments and Schools and the only thing we can see and found here are lots of wild plants and trees.
From the access road, we need to walk in this road trail and truly this will be a great adventure especially for those who loves hiking and mountain climbing. This is the first place were we can passing by, the surrounding is filled with lots of wild plants and trees. Road trails may be kind muddy and dusty because it is not filled with concrete that is why it really needs an extra careful to walk here.
The next place we can pass during the hiking adventure is this forestry areas were lots of trees, wild plants and big stones covered with moses can be found. Most of thw big trees grows here are Molave, Mahogany, Germilina and Acacia trees. This trees are also known as the hardwood native tree here in our Country. The place is very relaxing and cool because of the shady areas covered the land. Wild animals like birds, wild cats, snakes and even geckos can be seen here in fact there are lots of Photographers went here just to do photo hunting.
A few meters away from the Forestry areas, found this staircase made of Excavated soil. Aside of that, big flat rocks also used as a staircase and it is perfectly piled up suporting with small rocks and peebles to make it flexible and cannot easily collapse while stepping on it. Here there are already lots of big rocks covered with moss and a few structures were visitors can put their bringings like snacks and lunch.
This big chunk of rocks has already rolled down from the top of the Mountain by Natural phenomenon like floods and landslides backed many years already. The big rocks are already covered with moss and some of it are used as a Toursists spot like landscapes and staircase.
At the Spring:
In order to arrived at the place we need to walk a few hours and in inside of the spring are very relaxing and cool views we could find. This big stones submerged in the fresh water for many years covered with lots of moss. It is also served as a chair for those who loves swimming and splashing in the crystal clear fresh water. Children be abled to swim here because it is not very deep and they can sit on the big stones. The fresh water flowed here is came from the mountain top springs and it connects all the way down to Iligan River.
The other parts of the streams are already built with few cottages. Some of the cottages here are made of light materials like bamboo pieces, round lumbers and installed chairs made of solid metal bars. A long concrete structure that served as a barrer of the water so it can make into a pool at the middle of the stream. This place is always cool because of the shady areas brought by big trees and some fine sands at the middle of the stream.
Some of the big stone here are used as a staircase, the built ballesters that served as a handle so everyone can climb down and up safely. Lawis Spring is very perfect in terms with hiking and mountain climbing adventure, aside of that a perfect place to do camping trips together with friends or Families.
