Ruins of abandoned village - Yücebaş (Hartikox)

in Worldmappin5 months ago

Hello friends. While hiking on Sunday, I came across an old, abandoned village that made me sad when I listened to its story. My friend's father, who is 65 years old, was also in the group we hiked with. Since he is very interested in historical artifacts and treasures, he knows the events of the past very well, down to the smallest detail.
Merhaba dostlar.

When you first look at the area, it doesn't look much like a village. There are piles of stones in short distance places. Someone who does not know the story of the village cannot rightly make sense of the piles of stones.

Alana ilk bakıldığında bir köye pek benzemiyor. Kısa mesafeli yerlerde taş yığınları var. Köyün hikayesini bilmeyen biri haklı olarak taş yığınlarını anlamdıramaz.

This region was an Armenian settlement about 300 years ago. The village, where a stream and a cold water source passes right next to it, consists of two neighborhoods. One day, there was a wedding in the village. Food was cooked in a large cauldron for the guests. The majority of those attending the wedding died. Thereupon, it was thought that the wedding food might be poisonous. The food was examined and a "salamander" was found in the food. Salamander is an animal that exudes poison when in danger. It fell into the cauldron while the meal was being prepared and it was thought that it had leaked its poison.

We know that the decisions made by religious officials years ago were implemented. The religious officer in the village says that after this terrible incident, the village is now cursed and the village should be abandoned as soon as possible.

When the village is abandoned, the structures that are not durable enough are demolished after a while. After rain and snowfall, structures and stones are deeply buried in the ground.

Brick-like structures were also used in some of the houses.
Evlerin bazılarında tuğla benzeri yapılar da kullanılmış.

The gravestone destroyed by treasure hunters in the village where the church is located. The stone, which only a few people could carry, was split in two. When you look closely at the stone, you can see the sign of the cross.
