3 things that I love most in Mu Cang Chai, Yen Bai, Vietnam

Hello Hives, how was your first day of the week? Today is Halloween, what are your plans for today? In this article I will introduce to you 3 things that I like the most in Mu Cang Chai, Yen Bai - the land of Northwest Vietnam. In addition to the terraced fields, this place has a lot of interesting things, let's find out with me!

Mu Cang Chai is located in Yen Bai province, Vietnam. It is a small district 350 km from Hanoi city and takes 7 hours to travel. Mu Cang Chai has beautiful rice terraces in September and October. I have an introductory article here. However, Mu cang Chai also impressed me with 3 other interesting things.

1. Indigenous people (Hmong people) with gentleness, friendliness and hospitality
Locals living mainly in Mu Cang Chai are the Mong people (2nd largest in Vietnam after the Kinh). They wear beautiful brocade dresses that are sewn very carefully. They are quite colorful. Flared skirts create a gentle beauty for the people here. The elderly and children are extremely friendly and lovely. The children's eyes are very clear as if they know how to smile.

The children in Mu Cang Chai are very hardworking, during the day they study at school and when they return home, they will help their parents harvest rice, grind rice or do housework.
The locals here are very hospitable. When we lost our way, they kindly gave us directions and when our car broke down in the middle of the road, they stopped and fixed the bike for us. I really love the people in this highland.

2. The natural scenery is both majestic and romantic in Mu Cang Chai
The terrain here is characterized by hills and long passes, streams and valleys. Standing in the midst of vast nature, humans become smaller. I harmonized with nature in Mu Cang Chai and felt that life and nature are really magical. "Mother Nature" is always tolerant and friendly to people, especially heals the soul

Riding a motorbike through the passes at Mu Cang Chai is a wonderful experience. I came across small streams and a large waterfall. The water flow is quite strong, but clear and pure. On the way, I also encountered many goats. The colors of nature are really beautiful: the green of the trees, the yellow of the ripe rice, the red of the flowers and the white of the waterfall create an impressive picture of nature that is both majestic and poetic.

3. Tu Le Com (green rice or nuggets)
Tu Le is a small town of Mu Cang Chai, where the specialty is Com. Hanoi also has Com but the way to make Tu Le Com is also different from Hanoi Com. People will harvest young nuggets and dry them, then pound them with a stone mortar

Com Tu Le has a quite mild and sweet taste with the aroma of young rice. When you come to Mu Cang Chai, you definitely have to try it and buy it as a gift. In addition, the delicious dishes that can be made from nuggets are: fried egg with Com, nuggets cakes,...
