District 5 in Saigon is known as the "Chinese District". When you come here, you will surely be impressed with the ancient, the colors and Chinese culture. This place is really a great destination to explore not only because of the uniqueness but also the food or the people
District 5, also known as Cho Lon, was a major commercial center of Chinese people in Vietnam from the 17th to 18th centuries. District 5 is located in the Southeast, Ho Chi Minh City. From the city center, you can take a motorbike, car or bus for 6 thousand VND to come here
This place is famous for many Chinese people. You can visit Ba Thien Hau Pagoda built with unique Chinese architecture. Here, most people speak in Chinese. They are very kind and help give me directions very enthusiastically
Ba Thien Hau Pagoda was built in the 18th century, when Vietnam was still in the feudal system. Cho Lon or District 5 is very busy at the moment, the trade and commerce industry here is very developed
In addition to Ba Thien Hau Pagoda, you can visit the Nghia An Assembly Hall or the parish Church. Each spiritual work here is very interesting and attractive to tourists to learn about culture
In District 5, you can immerse yourself in the bustling atmosphere when participating in day markets at An Dong market or Phung Hung market. You can find a lot of different dishes such as noodle soup, bread and coffee. Every dish is very cheap and delicious. Further afield, you can find some souvenirs here. You should bargain the price, because many souvenir shops will have different prices
Coming to District 5, you cannot miss the stewed corn or dumplings or wonton noodles. They are sold in small shops with Chinese signs. I really enjoyed this place and took quite a few pictures. I feel like I'm in China haha😂
