Hello Hiver friends, earlier this year I had a very interesting trip to Cat Cat village in Sapa town, Lao Cai province - the birthplace of Vietnam. It must be said that Cat Cat village in particular and Sapa are must-visit tourist destinations when traveling to Vietnam. Let's explore the unique national culture of the Hmong people in my article today!
To get to Cat Cat village, I took a car from Hanoi to Sapa town for about 6 hours. Currently, there are many car companies for you to consider when moving from Hanoi to Lao Cai. The best weather to travel to Sapa is the dry season from October to April next year. During my last trip, the weather was beautiful, it was sunny and pleasantly cool. In particular, when traveling to Sapa this time you can see cherry blossoms and plum flowers blooming everywhere.
From Sapa town center, it took me 15 minutes to drive to Cat Cat village. The ticket price to visit Cat Cat village is 90,000 VND/person (equivalent to about $4). Cat Cat village is planned to be a famous sightseeing place in Sapa, where you go on long stairs to go down to the waterfall. During this process, you will discover the culture of the H'mong people here from the house they live in, the typical ethnic dishes and the costumes of the indigenous people
Along both sides of the road will be shops selling hand-made ethnic items: usually brocade costumes, hand-woven purses from brocade fibers, bracelets, silver earrings, combs, and decorative items displayed with precious wood from Sapa. The scenery in Cat Cat village is extremely beautiful and majestic, a natural picture combining waterfalls, mountains and hills. Although many people comment that Cat Cat village has been too commercialized, to me this place is still very beautiful with fresh climate and green nature.
When I visited Cat Cat village, I was very excited to meet the indigenous people here. They love to wear traditional brocade costumes with skillfully woven patterns and vibrant colors. The elderly here have a very gentle smile and are enthusiastic towards visiting tourists. Community culture is also very developed through classes for children and group dancing and singing activities
Dogs are popular animals in Sapa. They are very gentle and affectionate with strangers.
In addition to Cat Cat village, I highly recommend a few tourist attractions that I love when traveling to Sapa, which are the Stone Church and Sun Plaza located in the center of town. The combination of the traditional stone church that has existed for hundreds of years and the modernity of the building symbolizes the timeless development of Sapa in Vietnam's industrial development.
Thank you for taking the time to read all of my article. If you travel to Vietnam, let's put Sapa on your list of must-visit places!
