Hello Hive friends, it's been a long time since I said hello.
This time I want to tell you about my trip to Ujung Kulon, more precisely to Panaitan Island, one of the areas with beautiful islands in the corner of Java Island, Indonesia.
My friends and I made this trip with thorough preparation, determined to camp on an uninhabited island as a challenge in itself, and a very enjoyable experience.
Starting from a casual chat, we decided to travel to an island quite far from the city. An island that is not inhabited by any humans, there are only a group of monkeys, deer and other animals. After agreeing, we decided on the date.
The day before starting the trip, I prepared by packing all my needs while there. The trip took quite a night and we had to cross using a fishing boat to the island. For this trip we used a bus with a capacity of approximately 30 people complete with a driver and his assistant.
We left at night at 22.00 WIB. We gathered at the basecamp as the departure meeting point. I sat in the right passenger seat near the window so I could see the road on the other side of the bus.
JOURNEY TO PANAITAN ISLAND
On the day we prepared to depart for the exact location in Ujung Kulon. A place that is the tip of Java Island. An exotic place because it is still beautiful makes you curious to go to the location.
At 22.00 WIB we departed by bus, with our intentions and prayers we hoped to arrive safely at our destination. The journey took approximately 8 hours to get to Sumur Harbor, Banten. When we arrived there we had breakfast and while waiting for the boat to Panaitan Island. Because the journey was approximately 3 hours we chatted and joked with each other.
CANOING ALONG THE RIVER
During the journey to Panaitan Island, we decided to stop by the Cigenter River to explore the river. One of the destinations that we must visit when we go to Ujung Kulon.
We were divided into 2 teams because the boat was not big enough to accommodate all of us. The journey during the river can only be done by small boats because the location reached is narrow and full of swamps. There are crocodiles here but we were unlucky because we didn't see the crocodiles when we did this trip.
This trip is not far, and we are prohibited from going beyond the river limit for fear of something unwanted happening. So we only walked half of the river, and chose to turn back, because we were worried that something unwanted would happen. The second team did the same thing and returned safely.
Shortly after doing the river canoing, we continued our journey to Panaitan Island which was our main destination.
ARRIVING AT PANAITAN ISLAND
At 13.00 WIB we arrived at Panaitan Island. One by one we got off the boat and headed to the camping location while carrying all our equipment while there, We planned to stay 1 night.
That day we decided to stay on Panaitan Island all day, and go snorkeling in the afternoon. Some people decided to stay in the tent and enjoy the edge of Panaitan Beach.
After arriving at Panaitan Beach, we each built our own tents to stay overnight that night. After preparing to build the tents, we sat down to relax while enjoying coffee and drinks that we brought from home, joking and laughing while playing games.
Shortly after that we prepared lunch, at that time we ate rice, chicken, fish, vegetables and some snacks to enjoy that afternoon. The cool air and beautiful scenery were an extraordinary complement to lunch that time. After lunch, some went snorkeling and some chose to go around the beach and take pictures on the edge of the beach. While telling stories and joking, we passed that beautiful afternoon happily.
A BEAUTIFUL NIGHT
After being satisfied exploring the beach, we cleaned up and prepared for dinner and evening games. Some took a bath together, some waited to take a bath alone. There were many funny things that we went through at that time. Even some wild monkeys tried to greet us by approaching the tents that we used to spend the night.
At 20.00 WIB, after everything was ready we did a barbecue, we made grilled meatballs with instant seasoning to make it more practical. While joking and laughing we happily gathered while preparing dinner. Not long after dinner was ready and we all ate dinner deliciously and heartily, the atmosphere was cool with the beautiful lights that we decorated in our tent. Dinner became more special.
NIGHT GAME
After dinner, we started the game by playing UNO. A game using cards as a medium. This game can be played by many people because only individuals can win. I and some of my friends played this game in a gazebo right on the edge of the beach. With sufficient lighting we played noisily and joyfully. Some people who won were promised prizes and that made us even more excited.
After playing the game happily, I and some of my friends walked to the pier to see the beautiful stars, there were so many stars in the clouds that night. Something that is very difficult to find in the city of Jakarta. I was amazed and grateful to be given the opportunity to see the beauty of God's perfect creation. After being satisfied, we returned to the tent and accidentally saw some deer playing around our tent, we were silent in awe and did not forget to take the moment. After finishing, we went to the tent and slept.
THE JOURNEY HOME
Morning arrived and we decided to go home during the day because the trip took a long time. A busy morning, everyone was getting ready to clean up and tidy up. Prepare and tidy up each of our belongings. After everything was ready, we had breakfast first, eating breakfast on a boat that we used on the trip.
After everything was done, we dismantled our respective tents and prepared all our equipment so that nothing was left behind. After everything was ready, we took pictures for our documentation during the trip. This will be something that will not be forgotten in our entire lives. The photos were finished, the documentation was ready and we rushed to the ship so that we could return to the harbor on time.
