Very tough topic, especially in this area. I might give in, and say that Czech drink more beer per capita, then Germans. Well, Czech are on the top spot on this, world wide, by a high advantage.
For the love of argument, we might throw in Josef Groll, a Bavarian, who has a tight history with the pils.

Technically speaking, any beer from Pilsen is Pilsner, just like any beer from Budweis is Budweisser ;)
