Hi Everyone,

One of the highlights during our Osaka stay was our visit to Strawberry Farm No. 15. We hired a car as it was a bit of a drive, so it was a perfect day trip with the whole family. This charming farm combines the joy of picking ripe strawberries with the beauty of rural Japan in one place. Hiring a car was easily organised if you wanted to go outside of Osaka. I made a reservation online beforehand, and we arrived promptly for our visit.

Arriving at the farm, we saw rows of strawberry plants growing under a large translucent greenhouse. The scent of fresh strawberries fills the air as we open the door. We were instructed to remove our coats and waited for a staff member to assist us. The staff at Strawberry Farm No. 15 are incredibly welcoming, offering us a clear container and a quick tutorial on plucking the perfect berry without damaging the plant. They also provided us with a cute pamphlet with English instructions in case there was any confusion.

There were numerous types of strawberries to pick while the staff took us around to tell us what species they belonged to. The strawberries are not all you can eat, so you should pluck out what you want and have them weighed at the front before enjoying your fruits. The best thing to do is also ask the staff for recommendations on the best berries for the season.

Our kids love the hands-on experience of picking strawberries, and the farm's layout ensures our kids can pluck the strawberries easily. There were rows and rows of beautiful strawberries and we went through them finding the most red and biggest fruits to take home. After 30 minutes or so, we filled our boxes of fresh strawberries.

We took them out to the front and had them weighed. 4 boxes cost nearly $80 together! Yes, not cheap but Japanese strawberries are at another level compared to what we have at home. Strawberries in general aren’t cheap in Japanese supermarkets but here, you literally picked these yummy fruits of the plant not long ago. After you paid for your fruits, you can have a seat at the tables provided and start munching on them. We ate all the strawberries in one go, each of us enjoying our boxes. Another note is there is homemade strawberry jam for sale, if you have any luggage space, it is a great gift to take home.

We had such an enjoyable time at this strawberry farm. Make sure to book ahead of time, wear some comfy shoes and enjoy the freshest strawberries ever! These strawberries were much sweeter than what we can get at the shops, much worth the drive from Osaka!
