The amazing Gardens of Versailles Palace- the place where you can daydream

Hello travellers,

How are you today, what is your weekend mood?

I'm still dreaming about the visit I made to Paris this spring, so if in my last post here in the community I showed how I arrived and how I spent my first moments here in Paris, today we will go together to a distance of about 20 kilometers from Paris to visit a palace and its imposing gardens.

Day trip to the city of love, Paris

As I said in the last post, a friend waited for us at Beauvais airport and took us to his home, his house was our host for the next five days, and he saw that we couldn't manage with public transport in Paris and offered to drive us there.
He had been to the Palace of Versailles before and besides driving us there he was a great help in showing us how to explore the Palace Gardens.
The way to Versailles was quite hard due to the fact that the highway was very crowded, but after almost an hour it was already there, I must admit that I already started to fall in love with this country irredeemably.

The car was parked on a street a few hundred meters from the access to the palace, in the vicinity of the palace you can't find a free parking space, but it's no problem because walking makes the leg beautiful.

At one point I am speechless in front of me appeared an imposing gate as if it was covered with gold (that was the first sensation) and some amazing constructions, we are slowly approaching that gate and I start to touch it to see if I am dreaming or it is real.

We spent a good few minutes here in front of the gate and then tried to ask where the entrance to the palace is, but what do you know, bad luck, when we visited the palace it was a Monday and on Mondays the palace is closed.

The Palace of Versailles was also known as the Chateau Versailes translated into French Chateau de Versailles.
With a bitter taste that we couldn't enter the palace (we had heard it was spectacular inside, maybe next time) we continued our way to the palace gardens.
The Palace of Versailles was host to the French government and its kings.

After a few steps I am again speechless in front of me I start to see the interior gardens of the palace, now I don't seem so sorry that I couldn't go inside, probably if I visited the interior I wouldn't get to visit these gardens, at first sight they are huge so I immediately organized my visit here.

Not to forget the access inside the gardens was done through a checkpoint and we didn't pay anything, we only had to pay if the palace was open inside.

As far as I was informed there the cost of a simple ticket in the palace is 20euro/person, but the price of the ticket can increase if you take an exclusive ticket with a guided tour of the palace and the gardens, you can also include here the private apartment of the king, in these cases the price of a ticket can reach up to 100euro/person, if you have the opportunity to visit Paris do not miss this palace and its gardens is worth spending 100euro for a day to see these places.

Let's continue walking along the cobbled alleys of the gardens here we could see that they have names for example Allee Royale, Allee de Flore, Allee de Saturne, Allee de Bacchus (this was interesting), also at the entrance to the gardens you can find some guys where you can rent a four or six seater electric car for 40euro/hour, if you feel more comfortable or don't feel like walking for miles these cars are an alternative to make sure you get to see all areas of these gardens.

We chose the first option, which was to walk and we really didn't mind, because we ended up in a part of the gardens where there were many statues lined up on both sides of the paths.
I should mention something else, we visited the gardens in early spring when the trees and thousands of flowers were not yet in bloom and we found them amazing, but if we chose to come here in summer when everything was in bloom...

beautiful photos I seem to have been there myself🤗

I'm glad you liked my post today, I wish you could visit this wonderful place too, I'll definitely stop by again.

My friend, what excellent photographic work. I have never had the opportunity to be there, but thanks to your work one can approach the France of Louis XIV. I recently saw the Versailles series, and I was enchanted with the history, the gardens, and with the work of the Sun King. The paintings inside the palace are also impressive. Congratulations!

I'm so glad you enjoyed my post about the amazing Palace of Versailles, I wish you the opportunity to see the palace for yourself in the future.

One of my favorite places in Europe! Makes me miss it a ton.

That gate and fence are so majestic, I have never seen anything like it.

Indeed, when you get there you are speechless, just as I was, it is an impressive place that I had the opportunity to visit.

The palace looks similar to the one on a tv series, "The Great". I'm not sure but I think so. Anyway, the place looks enchanting. I like the garden and the fountain the most.

Thank you for your visit.

It's a very beautiful place and has historical value. It's a pity that you didn't go inside. The outside is so beautiful. It must be very beautiful inside. I hope you will visit Versailles again.

I will definitely go to Paris again and visit the Palace of Versailles and its interior, but I will have to allocate a whole day for that.

Amazing post and one of the most beautiful places in the world! I’m preparing my visit to the Versailles palace and gardens in the beginning of October. I’ve also see that there are certain days in which there is a fountain and musical gardens show. I

Yes, you are right, there are shows, when I was there in the spring they didn't have any.
Thanks for stopping by.
