Time stood still at the museum in Füssen, Germany
Dear travellers from all over the world I send you my best wishes and in today's post I want to go together to an amazing place in the German town of Fussen.
Where is Fussen?
Fussen is a very charming town at the foot of the Alps crossed by the river Lech, the town impressed me even by the way the houses were painted, various colors that seemed to fit perfectly, I found here a holiday atmosphere of tranquility and relaxation.
Now I have to admit that we arrived here quite late, so we quickly looked for a parking place (which turned out to be quite hard to find) because we wanted very much to visit a valuable sight, the Fussen Museum.
I had seen a photo of one of the halls inside this museum and was really mesmerized by that image and clearly wanted to take a photo there (dream come true, hehe).
The museum was founded in 1913 and is in a special location, in a part of the building that houses the Monastery of St. Mang, I honestly did not know what to expect, do I visit a monastery a museum, it was chaos in my mind.
Access to the entrance of the museum is through a rather narrow entrance but once you pass through it, an amazing view opens up.
Let's buy tickets and start exploring the museum.
After a few steps through that courtyard we arrived at the ticket office, here we met a lady who turned out to be extremely helpful, she told us that the visiting hours of the museum are between 11-5 (looking at the clock it seems that we had less than half an hour, but don't worry we were over time and we were not scolded, in fact we were not the only ones).
The entrance fee was 6euro/person, an extremely low price considering what you can visit inside.
Yes, the museum is open daily from 11-5 except on Mondays when it is closed.
I was anxious to get there, but when I walked into the Emperor St. Mang's Hall, gosh, I literally didn't know where to look.
I was amazed, and noticed that here we can see many stringed instruments, violins and mandolins, some of them very old.
After looking carefully at the exhibits we finally arrived in front of the door leading to the library of St. Mang Monastery.
I am speechless, I let the pictures speak for themselves, I saw very old books here, I was overcome with emotions looking at the shelves full of books.
What do you say is worth a visit to this museum?
Our visit here is over, but not before I take you through the streets of the city to show you those beautifully coloured buildings.
Also here in this town my attention was drawn to the church Heiling Geist, beautifully painted and with great attention to detail, by the way access to the church is free.
In conclusion if many tourists visit Bavaria for the beauty of the castles here (I think the castles here are spectacular, I will share with you at some point one of the castles that I visited) I recommend you to schedule some time for the smaller towns are so beautiful and welcoming that you do not even expect.
If you liked what you saw and read here please don't forget to give a LiKe, Follow, reBlog or a Comment, for all this I thank you, and until the next post I say goodbye.
P.S. The attached pictures you have just seen are taken by me with my mobile phone, and the text is also designed by me.
