The day continued. When we got to the tower in Sinimäe, it started to soon rain heavily. But got
some good views and photos right before that. 4 places visited in this post - Sinimäe, Viivikonna, Kohtla-Järve and Kiviõli.
Previous posts about this exploration trip - Post 1, Post 2
The rain coming in from the distance, almost no visibility to one side.
The other side was still clear.
Nice colors on landscape just weeks before snow hitting Estonia.
Farmers with tractors.
The best view on fields.
Some electricity generation place in the distance.
Another visit to Viivikonna in daylight. It looks worse now actually. 😀
Right after taking this photo noticed a dog running free and seemed a bit angry at me. Then it started to run towards me for a bit. That was an experience - got out alive and dog turned back after I ran through this abandoned building.
Another abandoned building a bit outside of the main Viivikonna
Not in a good condition.
Some parts really broken already.
Be careful here.
Beautiful facade.
Awful trash pile.
Railway tracks seem pretty new.
Kohtla-Järve - here is happening industrial oil shale mining, that makes a lot of electricity for Estonia.
Well it's on the side of Kohtla-Järve, didn't stop in Kohtla-Järve town itself.
Industrial buildings and huge hills of waste that comes from extracting energy out from this oil shale. Spoil tip is what wikipedia tells these are called.
And now on top of one Spoil tip in Kiviõli, there we can see a great view on the surroundings.
Not sure what it is, but this looks amazing to my eyes. Love these industrial landscapes visually even when I know this is not good for the nature and environment.
Time to start the ride back to Tallinn, sun is setting soon. It was a interesting trip overall, but next time should plan more time for more places and to see more of each place. Maybe a bicycle trip next summer? Who knows.
