As my promise yesterday, I go to my friend’s workplace to use the coffee and have a sightseeing. As he mentioned, that area has a large area on the Pine forest. Beside coffee shop and restaurant, that area also has accommodation area for tourists who want to stay in few days and a quite farmstay where supplies fresh vegetables and materials for the restaurant.
It took me 20 mins from my homestay to his workplace. This area is called Doc Mơ Farmstay. To be honest, on the way to get here, I have lost my way over 5 times because I cannot drive the scooter while watching the google map.
The most impressive thing to me is not about the landscape or the beauty of farm, it is about serving staff and its operation.
The first person who welcomes me and gives me more information & instructions is a watchman who is keeping the vehicle for guests. The next one I meet asks me which services I want to order and gives me more options and directions. They looks almost professional in black clothing.
Obviously I come here with the main purpose of sightseeing relaxing. That is why I say goodbye to the waiter temporarily. I start walking along the trail in the Pine forest.
The owner must be a great one when building some houses between the forest without any threat or danger to the nature. He loves to keep more green space in the whole area.
These modern houses are European style which brings to me a very feeling of lovely harmonies between the nature and human. Each building has its own function, one is a kitchen for cooking food, one is a bar counter and the rest one is the accommodation.
Go ahead to the forest, I see a nice place where they set some wooden seats. Around this area, those succulents are planted in the rotten base of the trees. I do not know who makes this awesome idea, it is totally appropriate to this vibe. They also create some wooden trays to grow succulents instead of using plastic flowerpot.
On the way to go to the old tree on the right side of my hand, they also used a lot of pieces of wood to build the ground then create a small path. In a sudden I look at in the sky, I realize that those top and tree-trunk of Pine to come a dead stop in a long time.
Walking back the main road, my friend asks me to wait for him in the small house. This house is for the children who want to learn how to make a pizza and he is the guider for those kids. So, I have the opportunity to see the process of making a mushroom pizza which I often eat in Ho Chi Minh city.
In the first step, he starts kneading flour by 2 hands skillfully.
After that, he flattens and stretch out into around by hands and uses a rolling bar to roll out the dough on a well-floured surface. Following this step, he moulds the border of dough before putting it in the tray.
The next step is quite interesting, he sprinkles mushroom, tomato, some toppings and tomato sauce on the pizza.
Finally, he bakes the pizza in the oven run by fire. And here is the final result, he cut one piece for me, one for him.
Through this moment, I know more clearly about his daily work. Playing with children always brings to our mature people a gentle feeling, my friend enjoy this job from his heart.
To fill up my stomach, I order a cup of kombucha tea which is a kind of fermented beverage and a dish of mashed potatoes. Sitting between the Pine forest and having my lunch are such a great time in a day.
Before going back to my room, I decide to stop by the garden area. They grow vegetables from here then supply it for the kitchen. They cultivate plants following a terraced form. A lot of vegetables have been grown and they are in the stage of growing up.
On each bed, they cultivate each kind of vegetables including Kale, celery, carrot, Vietnamese Coriander, curly lettuce, sweet potato, and so on. With a purpose of health is above all, those kinds of them are cultivated without chemical substances or chemical fertilizer. They are following the concept of organic agriculture. In front of each bed, they also grow some herbal remedies and flowers such as rosemary in order to keep worm or insects away from plants.
Besides, they also have some beds of strawberry, mulberry, banana.
To let the visitors know the name of each vegetable easily, they use the glass bottle of wine pitching in the head of bed with the name sticked on the bottle. This is also a good way to reuse and recyle things, right?
In the end, thank you @crazy-bee a lot for being my good friend though our knowing is not so far. Without your supports, I do not know how far I can step on my path. Thank you for inviting me to this place, taking me a nice tour as well.
Wow! What an incredible write up and fantastic photos! Vietnam is one of my favorite countries to visit, but I have not had an opportunity to visit Da Lat, although it is on my short list. Love the forest-farm concept and the meticulous architecture.
Much appreciated @barevcrypto for your lovely words. Whenever you come to Viet Nam, just let me know, dear ^^ It is so pleasure to take you visit somewhere here ^_^
