Discover Tien Sa Lighthouse ( Son Tra Peninsula ) - A place to guard for ships floating on the sea

in Worldmappin3 years ago (edited)

Hello friends! Welcome to my blog. First of all, I would like to wish everyone a good day. We are starting to welcome the first days of the new year and it will be wonderful when on the first days of the new year, we can freely explore our limits. In the first days of the new year 2022, my work is very favorable and everything is going smoothly. But there is one thing that I care about right now, that is my health. I usually work long hours every day, some days I only sleep 6 hours. Right now I need myself, to rest after hard working days. In my rest time, I will usually find a coffee shop to enjoy and relax or an exercise session combined with mountain climbing. I once had an article, about my walking journey, conquering and discovering the thousand-year-old banyan tree in the Son Tra peninsula. On that trip, I walked alone, when visiting that place. But on my trip today, there will be a close friend accompanying me. She is also a person who loves to explore travel like me and it is very special that she invited me to participate in blogging on this Hive platform. I will give a big thank you to my dear friend @hyhy93, thank you for the good things you have done for me and it is a pleasure to have you explore this trip with me.

The place is today's article, which I want to introduce to everyone, is the ancient lighthouse of Son Tra. When it comes to lighthouses, surely everyone knows what the use of a lighthouse is, right? The lighthouse, also known as the lighthouse, is built with tall towers. with a high-power lamp system and wide illuminating lens. The use of lighthouses is to support the navigators at sea, to be able to navigate the way and avoid dangerous shoals. In the past lighthouses, were often used widely. But now boats have modern tools that can guide them accurately. A good example is GPS. But in Vietnam, lighthouses are always a good choice and they cannot be replaced. Currently, most Vietnamese boats have not been modernized, so there are still many limitations. If the world has the most famous lighthouse, Alexandria is located in Egypt. In the city where I live, there is also another famous lighthouse. That is Son Tra lighthouse, also known as Tien Sa lighthouse. This lighthouse is also one of the oldest lighthouses in Vietnam, with over 100 years of operation.

Where is Tien Sa Lighthouse located in your city?
Tien Sa lighthouse is located more than 20km from the center of Da Nang city to the east of the city. You can easily get here by many different means. Be it a Taxi or a self-driving motorbike, you can even go by bicycle to enjoy the scenery and walk to experience the beauty of the primeval forest here. On my trip this time, I will combine a motorbike and walking with a distance of 5km. From below the city center, I will follow the sea route to reach the Son Tra peninsula. After going all the way to Vo Nguyen Giap, I continued on the road of Hoang Sa. This is known as one of the most beautiful roads of Da Nang, this road will have a number of kilometers stretching along the coast and going up to Son Tra mountain. The landscape of the mountains and the vast beaches below, along with white sands and blue seawater, will surprise anyone with the beauty that nature bestows here. After arriving at the gate of the Intercontinental resort, we were not allowed to drive through the area. The reason is that Son Tra island has banned scooters, where there have been accidents by scooters, so now people will not be able to ride this vehicle to Son Tra peninsula. Therefore, we had to park the car here and continue the journey by walking in the forest. It is said to be a forest walk, but actually, this road is a concrete path and it is also very easy to walk. From the parking spot, at the end of this road, there will be a fork. If you go to the left, you will walk to the highest mountain of Son Tra. If you go to the right, you will visit Son Tra lighthouse. From here, we will have to walk 5km to reach the lighthouse.

After starting to walk on this road, I am reminded of the thousand-year-old banyan tree walking tour, which I took almost two weeks ago. After walking this road again, I got a very different feeling from last time. The road appeared light rain and the road was very slippery. Although the weather today was not nice, we were very lucky, when we saw herds of langurs sitting next to the bushes eating leaves. I walked very gently and slowly so that I could approach the langurs slowly. If we go on motorbikes, they will panic and run away. Habitat flocks will usually be a family, from 5 to 7 members, and will go out together in search of food. Maybe you haven't yet, the Douc langur is the symbol of Son Tra forest, known as the "Queen of Primates". Their fur will have a lot of vibrant colors, their faces are also very gentle and friendly. This is the first time I have approached them, at a close distance. After I got closer, there were only two left in the bushes. I was very happy when today, was able to capture the herds of langurs. I sat watching its every move until it left and returned to its herd.

Continue on this road to meet a second fork. The other day, at this fork, I went to the right to reach the thousand-year-old banyan tree. But today we will go straight ahead, to reach Son Tra lighthouse. On the stone pillar, there will be no registration to Son Tra lighthouse, but there will be a signboard stating Truong Mai tourist area. This location is also very close to Son Tra lighthouse.

After continuing this road for another 3.5 Km. We have reached the Son Tra lighthouse. Before the path to the lighthouse, there will be a wooden sign with the name Hai Dang Tien Sa and an arrow going down. The road leading down to this lighthouse is quite steep, the road surface is covered with green moss. In the rainy season, the green moss grows very well and is smooth green, which is also very dangerous, when with a steep slope like this. The road surface is covered with green moss, it will be very easy to slip and fall, so everyone must be very careful when going down below.

After going all the way through this steep road, there will be a house painted in yellow with the words "Tien Sa Sea Light Station", which belongs to the central maritime company. The ticket price to visit here is 20,000 VND, equivalent to 1 US dollar. After buying a ticket, I was led by the manager to the lighthouse area. This place also has a lot of tourists visiting, coming before we are a couple in love and they are taking commemorative photos together. So this time, I walked around the area here. On the lawns are many wildflowers, they grow very beautifully with many different colors.

The steps are also covered with moss, which looks very impressive.

We then stepped inside this lighthouse. Tien Sa lighthouse is 15m high and 2.7m wide, below the lighthouse tower, is a wooden door. The door is built like a roof. Inside is a spiral staircase. When going all the steps, there will be an iron staircase leading to the light observation station.

After hanging up the stairs, I will see inside the lighthouse, which are the engines of the light station. The movement of the engine has the French letters filled with number 1, number 2, number 3. I don't understand what the principle of these motors is, but I can guess that these are movements of the French company BBT. installation. On the engine blocks is a big light, as far as I know, this light bulb has a lifespan of over 100 years. On the door to the outside, the lighthouse has an information board. Looking at the words on this bulletin board, I can tell the names of the two engineers who built this project. The first is named Barbier Benard and the second is named Turenne, the two men who are the contributors to the lighthouse here. This project was built by a company from France, with both the factory address and the year of completion of the project in 1901. If up to today, this lighthouse is more than 100 years old. age.

Step outside the lighthouse, standing at the high position. I could see all around this area, with the undulating sea surface and trees growing a lot below. I was comfortable standing here, spreading my arms wide, and breathing in the fresh air here is something that makes me extremely happy after stressful working days.

After standing there for a while, I looked towards the house when I entered, I didn't know if I could climb to the roof on it. But if I get there, I will have a beautiful angle of the lighthouse overlooking the sea. I asked permission from the administrators here and they approved. I climbed the iron stairs on the side of the house. After climbing up I was amazed. When this place can help me, seeing the lighthouse is amazing. It will help me to take good pictures of this lighthouse.

After the photo was taken, a loving couple walked up to this lighthouse. I offered to take a commemorative photo for them and they liked the photo, as it has a sweeping view of the surrounding area.

After stepping down, I did not forget to thank the guards here for supporting me a lot during my visit here. After saying goodbye to everyone here, it was about to start getting dark. We started going back to the parking area. With the distance on the way back is 5km and it took us about 1 hour more, to walk to the parking area. End of today's journey, leave the forest. We had 5 hours, with great experiences together and that is also the motivation for my upcoming adventures.
