RAKCHAM VILLAGE

Radhe Radhe Everyone!
I know the #winterchallenge has ended and I wish for more such challenges, at first I didn't took anything serious but now I can see, I was more consistent and with more excitement I use to write my blogs. To keep the excitement I'm back again with another ecxiting blog about exploring the villages called Chitkul and Rakcham.

Today we are at last inhabited village near Indo-China border at Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. The altitude of the village is
3450 meters and honestly I couldn't feel more alive then ever. The calmness and the solitude of the village makes it even more interesting and visiting here is itself a task. You can reach here by road, by air or by train. My friends and me came here by road and distance we travelled was approx 250 kilometers. By crossover the narrow roads of Rampur and Sangla we reached here, but I should mention that the roads offered breathtaking views.

I visited during the peak winters and all I could see was the layer of white all arround me . There were lots of natural waterfalls on our way and the waster was extremely cold. You have to gather your strength to eveb touch it. I wonder how hard it is to live here if you don't belong to the Himalayas.

There are lots of natural source of water in Himalayas and you will see lots of waterfall and rivers and water coming out from the ground. It's the purest water you can ever drink, it's full of vitamins and minerals. No wonder why the people of the upper Himalayan Ranges are more healthy and young looking.

As soon as we reached Chitkul, we stepped out of the car and started to do the exploring, as the whole area was covered with snow, we were unable to do to places but what we saw no less then heaven .

The sun was brighter then ever and the light was was reflection back from snow making it hard for us to open our eyes. I prefer a day hike on sunny winter day rather then on cloudy weather where I couldn't even take my hands out of my pocket. What do you prefer?

Chitkul is located in the Baspa valley, which offers majestic and breathtaking view and famous among the travellers for it's pristine beauty. There is a famous bridge called Chitkul bridge or baspa bridge which is small but famous in the Chitkul village. The brigade is covered with prayer flags and it is believed that whenever the wind blows, the mantra or prayer written on the flag travels along and spread calmness and protect every visitor and travellers.

FAMOUS CHITKUL BRIDGE

From the bridge you can see the amazing and paranomic view of the Baspa valley which is covered with huge trees and the rugged snow capped mountains. This place is perfect for photography lovers and you can capture the untouched beauty if the Baspa valley while standing on the bridge. This bridge is a crossing and a gateway to enter the last village which is at Indo-China border.

These are some of the pictures that I have capture with my camera and just look at the view, amazing isn't it? The Baspa river flows beneath the bridge and its water is crystal clear. Under sunlight the turquoise water shimmers and the view is magical. The shore of the river is full of rocks and pebbles.

On the other end you can see the dense forest and green meadows covered with snow providing breathtaking view. The whole valley is surreal and now during winters it's looking even more graceful.

Cause the view was so good, we took as many pictures as possible so that when we get old and unable to travel much we can look at them and live the memories again.

VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE

There are lots of people who loves to do winters trekking and how could one stop itself from not doing it when the mountains are literally calling you. In the picture below you can see group of people going for a winter trekking in the mountains of the Chitkul village.

After exploring the Chitkul village and the Barot valley from the bridge we headed towards the Rakcham village, which is 10 kilometres away by road from here. Well the day was beautiful, we thought why not visit one more place.

Rakcham is heaven and I mean it. It's paradise for nature lovers and those who enjoy solitude and loves trekking. I coud'nt explore more as it was time bounded but even from distance it looked beautiful and tempting.

You can see the snow peaked rugged mountains and dense forest in a single frame, that sight is rare. From distance it looks mysterious and who knows how beautiful it looks once you visit the mountain. This is located between Sangla and Chitkul and Baspa river also from near it.
