Radhe Radhe Everyone!
My love for snow capped mountains is immense and I'm here to drench you completely in it. Today we are here at Langza a small village in Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh.
The Golden Buddha Statue
As soon as I stepped out of my car, I saw a huge golden Buddha statue with a height of approx 35 feet at an altitude of 14,300 feet. This huge golden statue of buddha facing towards the Langza village is famous all around the world and it's also the highlight of the village.
This hidden gem is a day ride away from Kaza. It's a remote village so arriving here is most difficult but it's rewarding. The village is covered with snow cover packed mountains and it is divided into two parts the lower part of the village which is called Lanza Yongma and the upper world is called Langza Gongma. Dividing the village into two parts allows the local for better use of land and water resources. Also it helps the vocals to manage their agriculture activities more efficiently under the harsh climate the land of each part is different and used for different activities such as farming and grazing.
History of the Lanza
You will be Amaze to find the other village ones was beneath a huge Tethys see and supported marine life. And millions of your ago when the plates, the Indian played and the Eurasian played collided they lifted the sea bad and finally leads to the Himalayas.
The Villages is also called the Fossil village cause fossils of amenities and other marine creatures are found here.
The village was in isolation from the outside word for a very long period of time. The locals here built their homes with local clay and stones which is easily available to them. Now the village perfectly maintain a a balance between tradition and modernity.
From each corner of world tourist arise with a hope to find some fossil cause this whole village was once a huge sea.
The village
In the picture above you can see there homes made up of clay stone and wood. Also you can see the cultivated land. Cause of the harsh weather conditions they cultivate or grow vegetables during a specific period of a year. Also the solve there is Rocky with less fertility and low organic matter. Spite all this challenges the villagers use perfect techniques to harvest the crop and cultivate them and the crops generally grown there are Barley potato and green peas.
Mountains around the Village
Village Langza was found by collision of tectonic plates millions of years ago it lies in Trance Himalayan region. And The Hills around the village are full of fossils cause of which the village has earned the name Fossil village. It attracts the geologist and travellers from every part of the word and make them curious about the area, the fossils and the village. The top of the hills there were lots of prayer flag sending prayers and good wishes to all the travellers in visitors here.
The peaks round the Langza includes village Chau Chau Kang Nilda also known as princess mountain with an altitude of 6300 m. According to the locals this princess mountain protect them from harm and watches over the whole Valley. The very prominent peak visible from the village is Tangling peaks.
The day I visited the village was Sunny and luckily I was able to capture these beautiful a snow capped rangers of the greater Himalayas. I have taken these pictures with my Nikon camera and with my phone. This beautiful snow cap mountains attract lots of adventurers and trackers and they also do activities like Fossil hunting. These mountains around the village are more than just mountains it includes the whole culture of the village the spirit of the villagers and it also offers stories, peace and new experiences.

They are breathtaking views and landscapes, nature always imposing before our eyes, and I can't imagine how several settlements have been able to live in those places for many years in almost extreme conditions.
