The lake ends at Indo-China border, it's 30 % in India and 70%in China and to be more specific- at Tibet in China. It is amo namaste the most visited attraction in Ladakh, which is 14,000 ft above the sea level. Can you guess it's width? It's 5 kilometres wide and 134 kilometres long in the Northern India.

If you are an Indian then I know that you already know about this lake even if you have never visited. A Bollywood movie named "Three Idiots" climax scene has been shoot here. The movie is among my favorites, it features the actor Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, Sharma Joshi, Omi Vaidya and the actress Kareena Kapoor Khan. If you haven't watched this movie then go and watch now. Its really amazing, you won't regret.

Magnificent Mountain Range Around Pangong Tso During Sunset

Sunset at the lake is the most magnificent I have watched till know. The high mountains ranges covered with snow, make the picturesque and breathtaking. During peek winters the temperature go down to -30 and it's nearly impossible to survive here. I guess it's God's way to protect the beautiful gem he has created.

The water of this lake is extremely saline causes of which there is no aquatic life in the lake. I loved how the colour of water has changed with time and It felt extremely good to experience such phenomena happening in front of your eyes. We reached here around 2 in the noon and until evening we have witnessed the every colour of this lake until 5 in the evening. The enter to this lake it free and it's the major attraction in Ladakh cause if numerous reasons. I'm feeling so good by writing about this lake as was in my bucket list from a very long time. I have dreamt of visiting this place thousand times and finally I'm here.

In this picture you can see bikes usually called "Scooty" in India and some chairs chair which are exactly the chairs used in the movie 3 Idiots. Another interesting fact about this place os the mountains ranges, some are snow capped mountains, some brown barren, and some deserted. Can you belive it's all present in same location?

Ever Changing Water Of Pangong lake

In this picture you can see the ever changing color of water, generally it's emerald green in shaddy areas and lightblueunder fullsunlight. * The lake actually contains lots of minerals and when the light interact with water the colour of the water become more effervescent. Also there are variation in the depth of the lake, therefore we see different colors.

During summers, you will also see lots of migratory birds here specially ducks and bar- headed geese. And if you are lucky enough you can also see Tibetan wild ass which is also called Kiang. Kiangs are largest wild assses and they are native of high altitude regions of Ladakh. Well, I need to visit again to spot one.
