Lost in the beauty of Spiti
Tabo
Can't get enough with the beauty of Spiti and its true once you travel Ladakh and Spiti, they always calls you back. Where I am at Tabu which is located in Spiti Valley famous for its ancient ancient monasteries which is also called as 'Ajanta of Himalayas'. In this blog I will take you to taboo Dhankar and Nako lake and you will be Amaze to see how beautiful they are. As we travel from Manali towards Spiti first we reached Tabo by Manali-Leh route. The landscape of Spiti are barren yet strikingly beautiful.
Situated at an altitude of 3280 m Tabo is amazing village which provides panoramic view of the whole area. And you will be Amaze to know that it is a UNESCO World Heritage site cause of its cultural significance and historical value.
Along with the monasteries Tabu is a famous for the meditation caves craft into the mountains which are now used by monks and visitors for meditation. As soon as you enter the place it feels like that time has taken your back to the 996 CE when Tabu monastry was found. Tabo is a small village with a population of 500 people. People from all over the world visit this place and enjoy the festivals and different reach was prayers conducted here.
The climate here at Tabu is totally unpredictable it change within a flip of switch and left you Amaze and wandering. Yeah visited was it was Sunny at morning and during noon it turn cloudy suddenly. The rugged mountains of tabo were looking taking on that day and different mountain ranges were also visible from the village.
Dhankar
After Tabo our next destination was Dhankar, situated on a cliff and has an ancient Dhankar monastery. You know the 17th century Dhankar monastery was capital of Spiti. From the Dhankar old Spiti Valley is seen easily cause of high altitude. Monastery at dungar is 1200 year old and it's famous for its cultural and religious significance.
*Attitude of dhangar monastery is nearly 12700 feet and it provides breathtaking landscape view of the valley. Also it was built thousand years back and literally at this place the history comes alive straight in front of you.As I was running against the clock so I couldn't go inside but I came to know that the old monastery is now at the risk of erosion and to preserve The Heritage a new monastry has been constructed nearby and it provides much better facilities and inside about the culture religion and history of the area.
Nako Lake
Which is the Nako lake which is located in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. It's a true Gem and it is situated in lap of Himalayas and between the trans Himalayas region.I was Amaze to see the beauty around the lake and the crystal clear water of the lake which is as pure as you can imagine. During the peak winter the lake get frozen
and attrack lots of tourist from all over the world.
All around the lake you will see different trees most specifically, the willow trees give which give a unique beauty to the whole area.
Where are numerous different temples around located near the take and this Lake has spiritual significance for locals as well as Buddhist.
If you are lucky enough you can also spot migratory birds here as they are common species found in this place. The high altitude the reason is full of diverse high altitude flora and fauna. The water was crystal clear and the Nako lake is situated at the base of different tracks nearby. Is narco monastery around the lake and its famous for its architecture and has cultural significance. Place is heaven for those who loves to take pictures like me. Visiting this place was in my wish list for so long and being here I felt fulfilled and satisfied. The year 2024 has came to an end I am glad that I was able to travel different areas places and remote locations and was able to share them with you through @wordlmappin community and with this it's my last blog of the #winterechallenge. I enjoyed the challenge and it was fun and kudos to the team of @worldmappin for the hard work they have done and for daily #traveldigest.
