A beautiful sculpture sprouting from the nature's dream
Like a frozen heart of the mountain
It's been so long I haven't posted but I'm back again and in today's blog I'll show you more about Lanza and Lingti waterfall. If you are among those who read my blog then you guys must now how much I love Ladakh and Spiti. And adding to it I am here to share my journey and everything about Langza village.
On a beautiful sunny day in the barren land of Spiti Valley at an altitude of 4400 m we went to Lanza which is known for its breadth taking landscapes and for its cultural values. The village is famous for numerous reason may it be for the Marine Fossil found here and the famous Buddha statue and the Beauty around it.
On our way towards the village we saw numerous rivers, huge and beautiful mountains all though they were barren but they were totally adding to the beauty of Spiti.
This is the picture I have taken from the road on top of the mountain and I was surprised to find out how they could be so much Tibetan flags or prayer flags at such height. How do people manage to take out time to put these flags out here at such altitude. But guys that's the beauty of Spiti and Ladakh.
In this picture you can see a snow cap mountain adjacent to a barren mountain, now as I have travel this areas so I can imagine both in single frame but for those who haven't travelled this part of Himachal it's really difficult to even imagine both in single frame.
For photography lovers and nature lovers this place is paradise and the village itself is surrounded by Himalayan ranges and it also includes the famous Chau Chau Kang Nilda peak. The calmness at this altitude take away all your worries and fill you with joy and love. The very prominent and obviously reason why I love to travel and high altitude peaks.
This is a close up of Langza village which offers a glimpse into traditional way of life. There are very few houses here comparatively as life here is difficult during winters as its harsh and extremely cold. The house is here are made up of locally available material such as stones and mud. There are lots of homestay here and if you want to experience the authentic lifestyle and food of people of Lanza then you must visit this place.
After Langza headed toward the Lingti waterfall which is located in Lingti Valley. As the area is remote which made is really difficult for us to reach here. There was a short treck to reach the Lingti waterfall.
As soon as I reached near the waterfall I was surprise and happy to see the frozen water plunging from a significant height and surrounded by huge and barren mountains. This area is famous not for just waterfall but for the village in the lingi valley and monasteries here which offer a chance to explore more about the culture and tradition of Tibetan people. The area is famous for the medicinal plants which are found here cause of high altitude. So if you are someone who knows about the plants and their medicinal use then this place is definitely for you.
The ling tea Valley is a tributary Valley of the speedy river and the lingerie river it originate near the Indore Tibetan border in a mountain and flow through the valley eventually it merge with the Spiti river.
Well who knew off-the-beaten path can this rewarding and you will get to see the view of cascading water against rugged Himalayan terrain. In the picture above you can see how frozen it is.
It is located at an altitude of 4000 m and can cause altitude sickness to many people. You must be well prepared if you want to visit the place and it will be more better if you can hear a local guide for safety and to navigate the trail.
As in the pictures you can see the waterfall has frozen completely and all you can see is ice which further adds to it's beauty. The rocky cliffs around the waterfall give it more dramatic view an attract tourist from all over the world. This untouched marvel is a natural beauty which offer adventure serenity and make it a best offbeat place in the Spiti Valley. That's all for today's blog and all pictures are taken by me with my camera. Hope you enjoyed.
Thank you for reading.
