After a period off from writing here, I'm back to continue sharing about my trips.
For a change, I was traveling and I took the time to detox from social networks, but I was always here following my dear Hive, which by the way, just turned 3 years old! 🎂
This time, I'm very excited to share, because it was my first trip to Europe, in this case, Italy.
For this first post, I want to share a little about the planning for this trip, for me, the trip already starts in the planning.
Who knows, maybe this can help more people to plan their trips. I always get anxious and imagine how it will be, even knowing that when I arrive at the destination, everything will be totally different from what I imagined. I try not to create expectations, but it is difficult.
Soon afterward I will share with you what I experienced there, trying not to forget any exciting detail.
As I come from an Italian-Brazilian family, I always wanted to visit Italy, because I spent my life listening to my family's stories and I have always been interested in Italian culture and history, which I think is very rich in architecture, mathematics, history and much more.
The trip was at the end of last year, and it's past time to sit down and write about it. Enough procrastinating and let's go.

Planning
Whenever I go on a big trip like this, I like to plan well. I don't like to get stuck in schedules, because I know that when I get there, things can happen in different ways, there can be unforeseen events and sometimes we can get frustrated when what was planned doesn't happen.
But it is always good to have a plan so as not to get lost without knowing what to do when arriving at the destination, losing time to make decisions and research.
The first step was to search a lot on the internet, here in the Hive community about posts from Italy and try to compile everything that interests me.
Each one has their own objectives when they travel, and mine, for those who follow me, know that I like mainly the beaches. Therefore, I want to include the famous Italian beaches in my itinerary.
Besides beaches, another passion I have is wines and nothing like Italian wines. Maybe I am suspicious, but I love it.
I want to participate in some tastings and drink a lot of local wines, either by buying them in the markets or restaurants with meals.
I also love Architecture and history, but I don't intend to visit the museums, which from what I researched, are usually with scheduled dates and times or long lines. Who knows, maybe when we get there we will see.
I want to focus on getting to know the cities and the local culture. If I feel like it at the time, who knows, maybe I will visit one of the many museums that exist there.
Budget
As the difference between the Euro and the Real is big, we need to plan well in order to make the best of it. And in all my research, I saw that buying and booking in advance is the best way to save money.
I wanted to spend at least 15 days there, but I managed to stretch it to 25 days looking for ways to save money. This required many hours of research and planning.
To start, I created a spreadsheet and made 3 scenarios, spending little, spending well, and spending a lot. I tried to follow the low spending scenario but with a few extravagances along the way.
Routes
The itinerary has to be well planned as well, choosing the key cities to stay in. While doing the research, something in common emerged, buying and booking in advance would be the key to travel cheaper.
Another thing I noticed was the dates, during the vacation season, between August and September, Italy gets very crowded and prices get more expensive. After September, it seems that the tourists start to leave, and life starts to return to normal.
Until I found out that September would be a better time for me because it is the best season for wines and olives. Perfect! That's what I want!!!
To avoid having to return to the starting point, I decided to arrive in Naples and leave by Milan, always moving north and leaving the region of Sicily for the next visit to Italy, because for sure I will return to visit Sicily during the version and see the weather of the beautiful beaches in the region.
Having Naples as a starting point, I want to start with the Beaches, taking advantage of the last days of summer, I chose Capri and the Amalfi Coast.
Then, researching the region of the city of Pompeii, I found a winery at the foot of the Vesuvius Volcano that offers wine tastings with lunch and a great rating. It is good to know the ancient city of Pompeii, the one that was destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius and is a UNESCO heritage site, and to appreciate and be close to this monster called Vesuvius. I promise not to disturb its sleep.
After Pompeii, the next city to the north that catches my attention is the famous Rome. I guess this one can't be missed, right?
To get there, I a high speed train that I always wanted to try. I am also passionate about trains and all the mechanics involved. I think we all like a little bit of the charm of trains, don't we?
During my research, I saw that we have two main options for high speed trains, Frecciarossa and Italo.
As Italo has more modern trains, I will give preference to this one. The prices are similar, but you have to pay attention to the dates because as soon as they release the dates, the cheapest tickets are sold out very fast.
Above Rome is the region of Tuscany, famous for vineyards and wines and small medieval towns passing along winding roads with beautiful views.
A friend commented that I have to pass through Siena and San Giminianni, so we will spend a few days there and have time to visit satellite towns.
Then we will head towards Milan, the city of fashion. I was not expecting much from Milan, but I ended up falling in love with the city.
Northern Italy has many nice things to visit, so I will dedicate more days there, to be able to visit cities like Turino, Lake Como, and whatever else I can find.
I ended up creating a very complete spreadsheet, with places to visit in the morning, afternoon, and evening. With places, I don't want to miss, and some second options in case plans change.
Until then, I was planning to do the trip alone, and in the last few weeks, a friend of mine decided to do the trip with me.
Changing plans a little bit, but for the better. Traveling alone is very good, I'm already used to it, but having someone to share the hardships, stories, and adventures is very good.
Having selected the places, I separated the days for each place so I could book Hotels, Airbnb, and Hostels, as well as train tickets, tours, taxis, and food. Oh yes, I left a space for wines.
The Plan
In the end, the estimate was €4000 and the distribution of days was like this:

I had to change some accommodations that I had already booked so that my friend could stay together or nearby. But everything went well. So whenever possible book with the option to cancel or change.
For my planning, I am considering the following values:

Let's see if I can stick to this budget. I already imagine that I will end up spending mainly because of the food, restaurants, and wines.
Something good is that my friend is also *roots *and knows how to travel well. Our plan to eat well is to buy food in local markets to spend the day and avoid street foods. And to eat well, calmly, in good restaurants during the night.
I can tell you that it was the best thing we did, our snacks were better than some street foods we tasted there. We made snacks with first class meats, salad and lots of fruit, the markets in Italy are amazing.
After a lot of planning, now it is time to wait. Weeks of anxiety and trying not to think too much and let it flow.

Travel day
The day of the trip has arrived, and it looks like a beautiful day for flying.
Bags ready, let's go to the airport to catch the flight. I managed to fit everything into 2 backpacks. Whew! I thought it would not fit. But I am not in the mood to carry wheeled suitcases around.
The main suitcase goes with the clothes, and the secondary suitcase with electronics, documents and valuables.
This is another important part of trip planning. We have to be prepared for all kinds of weather, amount of days, and anything else we have to have clothes washed or buy new ones.
I usually start with underwear and socks, then pants and shorts, t-shirts and blouses. Then I go on to accessories, bath and lastly electronics, such as chargers and cameras. And lastly, I check my passport, documents and wallet.
Since we are early, let's enjoy the airport lounge.
Advantage of the credit card, I am entitled to the airport lounge vip to wait while the flight starts boarding having some farewell caipirinhas.
The experience was excellent at the LATAM lounge. I had never stayed there before. I will definitely be back. High quality food and drinks.
This is a respectable cachaça for making caipirinhas. If you can find it on the market you can buy it, I recommend it.
On the way, we will have a stop in Lisbon, and they offered a stop over, but I already had in mind that this city I will return to on the next trip to know.
I don't know about you, but I love to look at the map and dashboard of the flights and read the information such as speed, altitude, and where I am flying over. Are you like that too?
After landing in Lisbon, a quick walk around the airport, and a bite to eat and it is already time to board again. It is a good thing to have a short connection, which is more risky but I prefer it than to stay a long time at the airport.
Fortunately, there were no flight delays and there was plenty of time to complete the connection.
The sunrise was wonderful. I took the opportunity to start taking pictures and making videos of everything. It helps to distract us while we wait for the control tower to release us. Let us go!!!
We followed with a smaller plane to Naples, a very nice little jet. I liked it.
After a very quiet flight, we arrived in Naples and started the trip. I'll be waiting for you in the next post to travel with us.

Para variar estava viajando e aproveitei para fazer um detox das redes sociais, mas estava sempre por aqui acompanhando minha querida Hive, que alias, acaba de completar 3 anos! 🎂
Dessa vez, estou bem ansioso para compartilhar, pois foi minha primeira viagem para a Europa, no caso, Itália.
Para este primeiro post, quero compartilhar um pouco sobre o planejamento para essa viagem, que para mim, a viagem já começa no planejamento.
Quem sabe isso pode ajudar mais pessoas a planejar suas viagens. Eu sempre fico ansioso e imagenando como será, mesmo sabendo que ao chegar no destino, tudo será totalmente diferente daquilo que imaginei. Procuro não criar expectativas, mas é difícil.
Logo depois, vou compartilhando com você sobre o que vivenciei lá, tentando não esquecer de nenhum detalhe interessante.
Como sou de uma familia Italo-brasileira, sempre tive vontade de conhecer a Itália, pois passei a vida ouvindo as histórias da família e sempre me interessei pela cultura e história Italiana, que eu acho muito rica em arquitetura, matemática, história e muito mais.
A viagem foi no final do ano passado, e já passei da hora de sentar e escrever sobre. Chega de procastinar e vamos lá.

Planejando
Sempre que vou fazer uma viagem grande como essa, gosto de planejar bem. Não gosto de ficar preso a programações, Pois sei que chegando lá, as coisas podem ocorrer de formas diferentes, ter imprevistos e as vezes podemos nos frustar quando o planejado não ocorre.
Mas sempre bom ter um plano para não ficar perdido sem saber o que fazer ao chegar no destino, perdendo tempo para tomar decisões e pesquisas.
Primeiro passo foi pesquisar muito na internet, aqui na comunidade Hive sobre posts da Italia e tentar compilar tudo aquilo que me interessa.
Cada um tem seus objetivos quando vai viajar, e o meu, para quem me segue, sabe que gosto principalmente das praias. Portanto, quero incluir as famosas praias italianas no roteiro.
Além das praias, outra paixão que tenho são os vinhos, e nada como os vinhos italianos. Talvez eu seja suspeito, mas adoro.
Quero participar de algumas degustações e tomar diversos vinhos locais, seja comprando nos mercados ou nos restaurantes acompanhando as refeições.
Também adoro Arquitetura e história, mas não pretendo visitar os museus, que pelo que pesquisei, geralmente são com datas e horários agendados ou grandes filas. Quem sabe, chegando lá vemos isso.
Quero focar em conhecer as cidades e cultura local. Se der vontade na hora, quem sabe visito algum dos inúmeros museus que existem por lá.
Budget
Como a diferença entre o Euro e o Real é grande, precisamos planejar bem para poder aproveitar o melhor. E em todas pesquisas, vi que comprar e reservar com antecedência melhor coisa para economizar.
Gostaria de passar pelo menos 15 dias por la, mas consegui esticar para 25 dias procurando formas de economizar. Para isso, foi necessário muitas horas de pesquisa e planejamento.
Para iniciar, criei uma planilha e fiz 3 cenários, gastando pouco, gastando bem e gastando muito. Procurei seguir o cenário gastando pouco mas com direito a algumas extravagâncias no caminho.
Rotas
O roteiro tem que ser bem planejado também, escolher as cidades chaves para se hospedar. Enquanto fazia as pesquisas, algo em comum surgiu, comprar e reservar com antecedência seria a chave para viajar mais barato.
Outra coisa que percebi foram as datas, na época de férias, entre Agosto e Setembro, a Itália fica muito cheia e os preços ficam mais caros. Após Setembro, parece que os turistas começam a ir embora, a vida começa a voltar ao normal.
Até que descobri que Setembro seria melhor época para mim, pois melhor época para vinhos e azeitonas. Perfeito! É isso que quero!!
Para não ter que voltar ao ponto de partida, resolvi escolher chegar por Napoles e ir embora por Milão, deslocando sempre para o norte e deixando a região da Sicilia para a proxima visita a Itália, pois com certeza voltarei para visitar a Sicília durante o versão e ver o clima das lindas praias da região.
Tendo Napoles como ponto de partida, quero começar pelas Praias, Aproveitando os últimos dias do verão, escolhi Capri e Costa Amalfi.
Depois, pesquisando pela região da cidade de Pompéia, Achei uma vinícola aos pés do Vulcão Vesuvius que faz degustações de vinhos com almoço e ótima classificação. Bom que vai dar para conhecer a Antiga cidade de Pompéia, aquela que foi destruída pela erupção do vesúvio e é um patrimonio UNESCO, além de apreciar e ficar pertinho desse monstro chamado Vesúvio. Prometo não pertubar o sono dele.
Após Pompéia, a próxima cidade ao norte que me chama atenção é a famosa Roma. Acho que essa não pode faltar, certo?
Para chegar até lá, um trem de alta velocidade que sempre tive vontade de experimentar. Também sou apaixonado por trens e toda mecânica envolvida. Acho que todos gostamos mais ou menos um pouco do charme dos trens né?
Durante as pesquisas vi que temos duas principais opções de trem de alta velocidade, a Frecciarossa e a Italo.
Como a Italo possui trens mais modernos, vou dar preferência a essa. Os preços são semelhantes, mas tem que ficar atento as datas, pois assim que liberam as datas, as passagens mais econômicas se esgotam muito rápido.
Acima de Roma, temos a região da Toscana, famosa pelos vinhedos e vinhos e pequenas cidades medievais passando por estradas sinuosas com Lindas vistas.
Uma amiga comentou que tenho que passar por Siena e San Giminianni, portanto, vamos dedicar alguns dias por lá e ter tempo para visitar cidades satélites.
Depois vamos sentido Milão, a cidade da moda. Adianto que não esperava muito de Milão, mas acabei de apaixonando pela cidade.
O Norte da Itália tem muitas coisas legais para visitar, portanto, dedicarei mais dias por la, para conseguir visitar cidades como Turino, Lake Como e o que mais conseguir.
Acabei criando uma planilha bem completa, com lugares para visitar pela manhã tarde e noite. Com lugares que nao quero perder e segundas opções caso planos mudem.
Até entao, estava planejando fazer a viagem sozinho, e nas ultimas semanas, um amigo decidiu encarar e fazer a viagem comigo.
Alterar um pouco os planos, mas pra melhor. Viajar sozinho é muito bom, já estou acostumado, mas ter alguem para compartilhar os perrengues, histórias e aventuras muito bom.
Tendo selecionado os locais, separei os dias para cada lugar para poder reservar Hotéis, Airbnb e Hostels, além das passagens de trem, passeios, taxi e comidas. Ah sim, deixei um espaço para os vinhos.
O Plano
No final, a estimativa ficou em €4000 e a distribuição dos dias ficou assim:

1 dia em Napoles
2 dias em Capri
5 dias na Costa Amalfi
2 dias em Pompéia
3 dias em Roma

Tive que alterar algumas hospedagens que já tinha reservado para que meu amigo pudesse ficar junto ou próximo. Mas tudo ocorreu bem. Por isso sempre que possível reserve com opção de cancelamento ou alteração.

Vamos ver se consigo seguir com esse orçamento. Eu já imagino que vou acabar passando principalmente por causa das comidas, restaurantes e vinhos.
Algo bom é que esse meu amigo também é roots e sabe como viajar bem. O nosso plano para comer bem é comprar comidas nos mercados locais para passar o dia e evitar as street foods. E comer bem, com calma em bons restaurantes durante a noite.
Adianto que foi melhor coisa que fizemos, os nossos lanches ficavam melhor do que algumas street foods que provamos por lá. Fizemos Lanches com carnes de primeira, salada e muitas frutas, os mercados da Itália são incríveis.
Depois de muito planejamento, agora é esperar. Semanas de ansiedade e tentar não pensar muito e deixar fluir.

Dia da viagem
Chegou o dia da viagem, parece estar um lindo dia para voar.
Malas prontas, bora para o aeroporto pegar o Voo. Consegui colocar tudo em 2 mochilas. Ufa! Achei que não iria caber. Mas não estou afim de carregar malas de rodinhas por ai.
A mala principal vai com as roupas, e a mala secundaría com os eletrónicos, documentos e coisas de valor.
Essa é outra parte importante do planejamento da viagem. Temos que estar prevenidos para todos tipos de clima, quantidade de dias e qualquer coisa mandamos lavar roupas ou compramos novas.
Geralmente para montar a mala começo por roupas de baixo e meias, depois para calças e bermudas, camisetas e blusas. Depois sigo para Acessórios, banho e por ultimo eletronicos, como carregadores, camêras. E por último, aquela conferida no passaporte, documentos e carteira.
Já que estamos adiantados, vamos aproveitar o lounge do aeroporto.
Vantagens do cartão de crédito, tenho direito ao lounge vip do aeroporto para aguardar enquanto inicia o embarque do voo tomando umas caipirinhas de despedida.
Experiência foi excelente no lounge da LATAM. Nunca tinha ficado nele. Voltarei com certeza. Comidas e bebidas de alta qualidade.
Essa é uma cachaça de respeito para de fazer caipirinhas. Se achar no mercado pode comprar, recomendo.
No trajeto teremos uma parada em Lisboa, e ofereceram stop over, mas já tinha em mente que essa cidade vou voltar em uma proxima viagem para conhecer.
Não sei você, mas eu adoro ficar vendo o mapa, dashboard dos voos e lendo as informações como velocidade, altitude e por onde estou sobrevoando. Você também é assim?
Após desembarcar em Lisboa, Uma caminhada rápida pelo aeroporto, comer alguma coisa e já está na hora de embarcar novamente. Coisa boa de conexão com tempo curto, que é mais arriscado mas prefiro do que ficar muito tempo no aeroporto.
Ainda bem que nao houve atrasos no voo e deu tempo de sobra pra completar a conexão.
O nascer do Sol estava maravilhoso. Aproveitei pra já começar a fotografar e fazer vídeos de tudo. Ajuda a distrair enquanto aguardamos a torre de controle nos liberar. Libera nois!!!
Seguimos com um avião menor até Napoles, um jatinho muito legal. Gostei.
Depois de um voo bem tranquilo, chegamos a Napoles e vamos começar a viagem. Te aguardo no proximo post para viajar junto com nós.
