Manchmal führen uns die besten Abenteuer dorthin, wo wir nie geplant hätten, hinzukommen. So war es auch an diesem Tag, als wir eigentlich ganz woanders hinwollten. Aber der Stau war nervig und der Wetterbericht sagte Sturm und Gewitter voraus, also beschlossen wir spontan, die letzten schönen Stunden in der Natur zu genießen. Nach einer kurzen Suche in unserem Stellplatzführer landeten wir auf dem Wohnmobilstellplatz Hermasweg - was für ein glücklicher Zufall.
Sometimes the best adventures take us where we never planned to go. That was the case on this day, when we actually wanted to go somewhere completely different. But the traffic jam was annoying and the weather forecast predicted storms and thunderstorms, so we spontaneously decided to enjoy the last few beautiful hours in nature. After a quick search in our pitch guide, we ended up at the Hermasweg motorhome site - what a happy coincidence.

Ein Naturparadies am Ortseingang
A natural paradise at the entrance to the village
Der Stellplatz liegt idyllisch am Rande eines Naherholungsgebietes, umgeben von Sportanlagen, einem Reitstall und dem nahen Angelsee. Der Badesee ist nur fünf Gehminuten entfernt und an warmen Tagen sicher ein beliebtes Ziel. Als wir ankamen, waren nur noch wenige Stellplätze frei - ein Zeichen für die Beliebtheit des Platzes. Die Ausstattung ist praktisch: Strom, Frischwasser und Entsorgungsmöglichkeiten für Grau- und Schwarzwasser sind vorhanden. Was uns sofort auffiel, war die Ruhe und Abgeschiedenheit. Abseits der Hauptstraße herrscht eine fast meditative Stille, die nur durch das sanfte Rauschen der Bäume und das gelegentliche Wiehern der Pferde aus den Reitställen unterbrochen wird. Ein idealer Ort zum Entspannen.
The pitch is idyllically situated on the edge of a local recreation area, surrounded by sports facilities, a riding stables and the nearby fishing lake. The bathing lake is just a five-minute walk away and is certainly a popular destination on warm days. When we arrived, there were only a few pitches left - a sign of the popularity of the site. The facilities are practical: electricity, fresh water and disposal options for gray and black water are available. What struck us immediately was the peace and quiet. Away from the main road, there is an almost meditative silence, interrupted only by the gentle rustling of the trees and the occasional neighing of the horses from the riding stables. An ideal place to unwind.

Grafenrheinfeld, ein kleiner Ort im unterfränkischen Landkreis Schweinfurt, liegt malerisch eingebettet in die Landschaft der mainfränkischen Platte. Die Region ist geprägt von ihrer landwirtschaftlichen Tradition und der Nähe zum Main, der sich in sanften Schleifen durch die Landschaft schlängelt. Die Nähe zur einst bedeutenden Handelsstadt Schweinfurt unterstreicht die historische Prägung der Region. Gleichzeitig hat sich Grafenrheinfeld seinen dörflichen Charme bewahrt, wobei die harmonische Verbindung von traditionellen Fachwerkhäusern und moderner Architektur dem Ort eine besondere Atmosphäre verleiht.
Grafenrheinfeld, a small town in the Lower Franconian district of Schweinfurt, is picturesquely nestled in the landscape of the Main-Franconian plateau. The region is characterized by its agricultural tradition and its proximity to the River Main, which meanders through the landscape in gentle loops. The proximity to the once important trading town of Schweinfurt underlines the historical character of the region. At the same time, Grafenrheinfeld has retained its village charm, with the harmonious combination of traditional half-timbered houses and modern architecture giving the town a special atmosphere.

Ein Spaziergang mit zwei Gesichtern
A walk with two faces
Nachdem wir uns eingerichtet und die Umgebung erkundet hatten, machten wir uns auf den Weg ins Herz des Ortes. Der Spaziergang entlang der Hauptstraße war allerdings weniger idyllisch: Der Verkehr war laut und viele Fahrzeuge fuhren gefühlt zu schnell vorbei. Doch sobald wir die Hauptstraße hinter uns gelassen hatten, erreichten wir den Marktplatz, der mit seinen historischen Gebäuden, kleinen Geschäften und gemütlichen Sitzecken sofort eine einladende Atmosphäre ausstrahlte.
Once we had settled in and explored the surrounding area, we made our way into the heart of the town. However, the walk along the main street was less idyllic: the traffic was loud and many vehicles drove felt like they were going too fast. But as soon as we left the main street behind us, we reached the market square, which immediately exuded an inviting atmosphere with its historic buildings, small stores and cozy seating areas.

Wer die regionale fränkische Küche liebt, ist im Biergarten der „Alten Amtsvogtei“ genau richtig. Ich habe mich für einen klassischen Braten mit Kraut und verschiedenen Klößen entschieden - ein Gericht, das ich nur in Franken esse und das mich jedes Mal aufs Neue begeistert. Die fränkische Küche ist bekannt für ihre herzhaften und deftigen Gerichte, die oft von den bäuerlichen Traditionen der Region inspiriert sind. Am Stellplatz selbst gibt es eine Pizzeria, von der andere Camper sagen, sie sei sehr lecker. Wir haben sie dieses Mal nicht probiert, aber vielleicht beim nächsten Mal.
If you love regional Franconian cuisine, the beer garden at the “Alte Amtsvogtei” restaurant is the place for you. I opted for a classic roast with cabbage and various dumplings - a dish that I only eat in Franconia and that delights me every time. Franconian cuisine is known for its hearty and hearty dishes, which are often inspired by the farming traditions of the region. There is a pizzeria on the pitch itself, which other campers say is very tasty. We didn't try it this time, but maybe next time.

Was als ungeplanter Stopp begann, entpuppte sich als eine wunderbare Entdeckung. Der Wohnmobilstellplatz Hermasweg bietet nicht nur eine hervorragende Infrastruktur für Camper, sondern auch eine wunderschöne Umgebung, die zum Entspannen und Entdecken einlädt. Die Mischung aus Natur, Tradition und kulinarischen Highlights hat uns begeistert - und uns einmal mehr gezeigt, dass die besten Erlebnisse oft dort warten, wo man sie am wenigsten erwartet.

What began as an unplanned stop turned out to be a wonderful discovery. The Hermasweg motorhome site not only offers an excellent infrastructure for campers, but also beautiful surroundings that invite you to relax and explore. The mixture of nature, tradition and culinary highlights delighted us - and showed us once again that the best experiences are often waiting where you least expect them.

Direkt in der Nähe befinden sich ein Fischersee, eine Reitanlage und ein Sportgelände. Der Platz ist ganzjährig nutzbar, geschottert und weitgehend eben. Strom, Frischwasser sowie Entsorgungsmöglichkeiten für Grau- und Schwarzwasser sind vorhanden. Für das leibliche Wohl sorgt eine Pizzeria in einem der Vereinshäuser direkt am Platz. Es gibt Augenblicke in meinem Tagesablauf, die ich nutze, meinen Gedanken freien Auslauf zu gewähren, während ich mich gedankenlos mit all dem vergnügen kann, was allgemein als sinnfrei bezeichnet wird. Mit diesem Habitus habe ich beste Erfahrungen gemacht, da die durch gepusteten Gedanken nach ihrer Rückkehr, ohne die staubige Schwerfälligkeit, das Denken viel leichter machen. So spielte sich auch ein Gedanke bei mir ein, der mir die Vermutung aufdrängte, dass du bei deinen Abstechern stets eine Putzkolonne vor Ort im Einsatz hast. „Heute machen wir das Frankenland staubfrei!“ So etwas macht Eindruck – zumindest bei mir. Bei einer meiner letzten Fahrten nach Zagreb zog ich es ausnahmsweise vor, nicht die Autobahn zu nutzen und nahm den Weg durch die Dörfer. Jetzt, da ich den Vergleich mit deiner Reportage vor Augen liegen habe, muss ich zugeben, doch besser eine Putzkolonne im Einsatz gehabt zu haben.😊
Deine Gedankenreisen sind mindestens so spannend wie meine echten Trips. 😄 Die Idee einer mobilen Putzkolonne mit dem Slogan "Heute machen wir das Frankenland staubfrei"! hat durchaus Potenzial - vielleicht ein neues Projekt für den nächsten Trip? Am Ende zählt aber weniger, ob eine Strecke staubfrei oder perfekt herausgeputzt ist - sondern was man unterwegs entdeckt. Vielleicht hat deine Fahrt durch die Dörfer ja genau das bewiesen: dass die schönsten Eindrücke oft abseits der ausgetrampelten Pfade warten 😉.
