This Saturday I visited the festival "According to Malkotarnovski - from the spring of Strandzha" in the town Malko Tarnovo in Bulgarian mountain Strandzha.
Unique Bulgarian customs preserved over time are presented at the festival.
The festival is being held for the 14th consecutive year and its aim is to:
"shown the intangible heritage of the Strandzha region in an authentic form".

This year, the community center of the town, celebrates 110 years since its establishment, and that is why the event is dedicated to it.
My friends and I arrived at the main square where the festival takes place in the early afternoon.
The square was decorated with festive balloons.
Some of the trees were wrapped in hand-made knitting.
The entrance of the community center was covered with authentic carpets, rugs and cushions.
There was a wooden cart, decorated with patterned knitting and an antique table with a clay jar and wooden stools.
Old crafts from the source of Strandzha are presented: felting, pottery, basketry.
Visitors to the festival had the opportunity to ride in a carriage.
There were dozens of stalls where craftsmen displayed their handmade works.
There were knitted goods, woolen goods, earthenware, handmade jewellery, Manov honey.
T-shirts made with Bulgarian embroidery can be purchased.
Food was prepared on site, and there was bulgur plate, nettle soup, beans in a pot.
There were guests at the festival from the city of Edirne, who had also exhibited their handmade products.
During the festival, there was an exhibition of wooden sculptures, a children's theater, a Bulgarian custom called "Butterfly", which represents a prayer for rain, was presented.
My friends and I were at the festival briefly, but it was so nice and exciting to be there.

Such a lovely day for visiting a festival. These crafts are very colourful and cheerful. The blue sky and bright sunshine made the day much more enjoyable.
