I think we generally want posts on HIVE to contain at least 250 words. Thus, users might cause verbiage while trying to reach 500 words in their post, which would affect the quality of a post, imo.

Length of post is only under suggestions. It's not a hard rule. That doesn't mean that if your post is only 400 words, we won't curate your post. But say in a selection of 50 travel posts in a day and we only have to choose 3 top posts and 15 honorable mentions, which would we choose: a 400-word post or an 800-word post? That's considering all the rules are followed and all other suggestions are also met.
There are many nuances in curation that can't be put into hard rules. At the end of the day, it's all about putting your best travel content out there.
Travel is freedom for people, so is a travel post. Main rule is no plagiarism for sure.
True. No one's restricting anyone on what to post in their accounts. But as a curation team, we also reserve our right and freedom to curate travel posts. This guideline is intended to have a common understanding between us curators and the content creators.
