Having heard about the local artesian well where we could get good drinking water for free, and needing to get back in touch with nature, we set out to revisit this area where we camped last September.
The gallon jugs we brought with us were quickly filled and put in the car. Then, we looked for the actual dam. It didn't take too long to find it.
Wisconsin is a fairly flat state, so we don't get the huge tall waterfalls that are common in the Pacific Northwest or Wyoming. (I need to get up to Copper Falls soon...)
I took some video here as well... testing my new external microphone and windbreaker at the same time. I think it worked all right! This will soon become the base to a sleep video for my new channel... Freya's Moods. (Please like and subscribe if you find it useful!)
After taking the video, I walked over to the fishing area and took a few stills to show you that there's still plenty of ice and snow here. Spring is almost here, but not just yet!
I love taking pictures that contrast winter vs summer in the same picture... these hopes of spring/summer still encapsulated in winter ice. Underneath that ice, there are plenty of fish just waiting for the warmer waters of summer, when prey will be easy to catch and green plants fill the water once more!
My elder daughter looks across the piers to the ice - wanting to try some fishing herself - or maybe even getting a boat to try the waters a bit more...
