Pathfinder Rain - Wondrous Wyoming

DSC_2497_1600.JPG

Finally, the last of the set of pictures I took back in June when we visited Alcova, Wyoming, and the dams that put the area on the map. As we finished our tour, a thunderstorm was brewing. We live in an arid climate, and thunderstorms provide most of the warm-season precipitation.

The top picture is the last of this series, but is the most visually stunning of this collection.

I've always loved the dramatic colors thunderstorm photography gives.

Both of these shots (above and below) were taken within moments of each other - showing how localized these storms can be.

Pyramid Peak, again, across the downstream edge of the reservoir.

Leaving, we stopped and took some final pictures. It's sure beautiful!

As we drove off, the rain came down heavy around us accompanied by lightning and thunder. The perfect ending to this tour!

Photos taken by myself in June 2020 with my Nikon D7200. Crossposted in Uptrennd.
