A transit from Port Harcourt state to enlightened myself on he tourist attractional places in Cross River State precisely calabar. While on my journey I encountered so many challenges such as bad road, dusty areas and vehicle breakdown. Taking a transit transit from Port Harcourt state you will need to pass through Akwa Ibom state. The are known by the slogan " LAND OF PROMISE". The state is blessed with palm oil gotten from palm fruit and also blessed with oil and gas stock been one of the major crude oil producing state most of their indigenous members focuses on farming where the generates more income to Carter for themselves, family, friends and love ones.
But guess what?
The state have a very bad road that's covers a distance of 20km from a region called head bridge to Odukpani local government area, precisely Okurikang area. Due to the bad road, journeys which where supposed to be attended in 20 mins was extended to an hour. Arrh the pot holes were more annoying. It was really stressful. I arrived at calabar in the night
Calabar is one of the eighteenth local government in cross river state known by the slogan "LAND OF PARADISE". Indeed calabar is beautiful city. It is the capital city of Cross River State which is seen in the map as located in the south south geopolitical zone of Nigeria.
It has six ( 6) geo political zones which are
- North - Central
- North - West
- South - West
- South - South, where calabar is located which is my area of emphasis
- North - East
- South - East
Further more Cross River State has eighteenth ( 18 ) local government and their head quarter which are

During my little stay in calabar read about some local government which is Odukpani and Ikom
Odukpani is known for producing oil. It has a wide vegetation of palm fruit own governmentally and individually which generate income for the well keep of the people and foreigners. No good source of water only streams and we'll are available.
Ikom is known for their high productivity of cocoa which are been used for producing beverages, chocolate, cocoa powder,cocoa palm wine and other exported goods
During my Tour journey in calabar, I visited calabar the biggest street party that covers from calabar municipality to calabar south..so many people from the same and different country came in to have fun. The biggest street party is called CALABAR CARNIVAL it was introduced in Nigeria in the 2004. It was founded by the former governor of Cross River State Donald Duke. From the English dictionary, the word carnival entails a festive occasion marked by parades and sometimes special foods and other entertainment such as dancing and acting. These features aforementioned, can be attended with the following elements
- Costumes
- Masquerade
- Lively music and vibrant dancing .
Costumes this defines and distinguish a particular group from another. Calas Vegas the costume has a colourful, the participants were tall with a good and serious attitude of performance which at the end the band emerges as the winner of 2024 calabar street carnival,they also emerged the first position during the 2023 calabar carnival,best six other band to remain the best again in 2024
Masquerade this is an exhibition or play well known by so many dwellers irrespective of the countries or state . The play comes out in a different costume, some maybe scary, some are friendly since it was an open party, that concern different categories of people high classes ,meddle classes, and low classes, the masquerade used was friendly with audience in contact
Live music live music were display at the calabar stadium were popular music artist like patorankin, actor like Ramsey Noah to mention but a few were invented to manage the stage. It was so colourful and educational. Travelling is one of the best method of learning because learning is done both actively and passively. At a stroll in the stadium, I made so many new friends
