Nothing in this world can be compared to the freedom provided by summer break. That's the freedom that charges our batteries for the next few months and brings air to our lungs.
I would be lying if I said that I wasn't looking forward to having some time for myself and taking a break from everyone, at least for a while. That is something that every person deserves, even if many people don't think so a little vacation can change a lot.
I've been planning for a long time what I'm going to do during these two months of vacation (in Serbia the break is 2 months), and the first thing on my list was a visit to Montenegro🇲🇪.
I decided to go for 5 days because last year I went for 10 days and unfortunately I was bored and didn't know what to do. So on July 5th I packed a hat, bikini and sunscreen in my pink suitcase and went to Montenegro.
Even though the drive lasted 12 hours (I traveled by bus) I wasn't bored, I met new people and I watched my favorite series Stranger Things. If you're wondering why I chose Montenegro, it's because I havent seen my sister for a month and a half because she is in Bar. I think I would go to Bar even if she wasn't there because Bar is not like the other towns on the coast of the Adriatic Sea,small and full of tourists.
I arrived there on Wednesday and in the evening, I went swimming but I didn't go to the city beach, instead I went to the part of the city where the lighthouse is located where are not many people.
The feeling was amazing. Swimming while watching the sunset in crystal clear water while the only thing you can hear is the sound of the waves. Of course, I also brought my masks because I love diving and observing fish, crabs and Sea urchins in the water and swimming among them. My only regret is that I don't have an underwater camera so that I can record everything I see while diving, but I hope that one day I will do that too. I also found a puppy there and played with it 🥰.
CURIOSITIES ABOUT BAR
Bar Port is the largest Montenegrin port. It is the connection of Montenegro with the world, because it is a border municipality, which is connected to Italy by the Adriatic Sea and it is 55 km from Podgorica.
The most interesting fact about Bar for me was how did it get the name. And the answer is that the name is from the Latin Antibarum or Antibari, A name taken because of its location and which means "in front of Bari" which is a city in Italy 🇮🇹
FOOD
Both of these are traditional food in Montenegro. 10/10 for shrimps and ćevapi. One of them being more famous by the sea side of the country and the other one in the mountainous side BUT make sure if you visit Montenegro not to leave before eating ćevapi!
*We visited Ulcinj's Velika Plaža "Big Beach" which is the Montenegro's longest beach and it's also a sandy beach
This trip, even if it was short has helped me feel so warm and comfortable.
We are always surrounded by wonderful things, but we no longer see them as beautiful as they are and a trip like this can help us see the world from other perspective.❤️
