Hello everyone...

Jakarta as the capital city of the country may seem like a busy and crowded city. People may only visit Jakarta for a short time—for work, not for tourism. That's what happened to me in the past few years. After having a busy schedule and—in fact having little time—my daily travel route is—Home to Office to Home again then end up in bed. Occasionally I do travel but it's only limited to Malls and Coffee Shops.

However, some time ago I thought about traveling in Jakarta. After not traveling around Jakarta for a long time, I was surprised by some of the changes that occurred. So in that free time—I took a few days off just to explore a corner of Jakarta that I had never visited before.

And here I am, in a place called Pos Bloc in Central Jakarta.

Let's get it!

Pos Bloc, Jakarta

Pos Bloc was originally a building where mail delivery services operated. The office was called the Post Office, one of the first shipping expeditions in Indonesia. This building can be called the largest Post Office in Indonesia built during the VOC era. Then somehow—maybe because the Post Office's expedition function began to decline because many other expeditions began to be trusted by the public, so this place was made into a cool museum to be used as a hangout place. This building still has a touch of European style—especially Dutch.

Disclaimer, in this post I will not discuss the building or the food in it because I came here only for tourism—not to hangout.

At first I never thought that this magnificent building used to be a Post Office. I can imagine how hectic this building was when the Post Office was still operating here. Sending letters, sending goods, even sending money, there must have been a lot of queues every day. I remember when I was in school, I diligently sent manuscripts through the Post Office. Maybe the manuscript also stopped by here. Maybe.

Although this building was formerly a Post Office, the administrators did not seem to have changed the building in a big way. You can even still feel the vibe of a Post Office. The only difference is probably the indoor layout of this building.

I like the style of this building, where there are many public spaces and it is not so obvious that there are many food outlets and others in this building. When I went there, I saw several school students sitting with their parents and also a group of workers chatting. In general, this place located in front of the busway stop is indeed very cozy.

In the inner area, after passing several food tenants you will see a very large empty space. It seems that this building can also be used for annual events or certain events.

At the very end there are many aesthetic seats with a very unique color combination.

It is very unfortunate, the first Indonesian Expedition Office had to disappear and be replaced by a business center like this. This building should have been a Postal Museum, where there are many photos that will show the history of the formation of the Post and how the community responded at that time. However, through this seemingly still the same construction I can feel the vibe of an expedition office.

Hasta la vista!

Hi, Halo, Annyeong! Welcome to my galaxy.

I have so much imagination in my head. Something that I can't achieve as a human and as a girl. So writing is very challenging. Since Junior High School, I have written whatever I want to write. Without skill, I just write what I want to read. Now I have 12th published novels and all of those are romance.
Yeah, I proudly say that I am a passionate author, traveler wannabe, and blogger.

A truly beautiful place, the design of the place brings extraordinary peace, ❤️

Exactly @suarlex the place is beautiful..

The post office in Jakarta is better maintained. It's so suffocating to see the Post Office in my city, it's a shame they don't maintain it well and I even want the post office to be returned to its original function.
