This whole area of Spain was dedicated to coal mining, there were many thermoelectric power stations, and the mines were being closed at the same time as the power stations. It is a real shame because in many other countries they have continued to use them but not here. As a consequence, the area is suffering from depopulation.

Exactly the same phenomenon as in that area of Spain we find in some areas of Romania, those thermal power stations were closed, coal mines were closed and many people were left without jobs.
The mining towns today look like after the war, there is fantastic poverty there, young people have gone to other cities or other countries across Europe to work to support their families.

It is a real shame that all this happens in our countries.
