Ahoj. O svátečním pondělí jsme celá rodina vyrazili na výlet na Vlčí jámy.
Vlčí jámy nejsou od nás moc daleko, asi 50 km, přesto jsme tam ještě nikdy nebyli.
Přijeli jsme na parkoviště v Horní Blatné.
Od parkoviště jsme prošli částí města kolem kapličky a velké lavičky.
Hi, on a holiday Monday we went on a trip to the Wolf Pits. The Wolf Pits are not too far from us, about 50 km, yet we have never been there before.
We arrived at the parking lot in Horní Blatná. From the parking lot we walked through part of the town past a chapel and a large bench.
Za městem se silnice změnila v dlážděnou cestu, která vedla kolem Vlčích jám až na vrchol kopce Blatenský vrch.
After the town, the road turned into a paved road that led past the Wolf Pits to the top of Blatenský vrch (Blatenský Hill).
Po zhruba 1.3 km cesty stále do kopce jsme došli k Vlčím jámám. Byl jsem překvapen jak velké jsou rozlohou.
Vlčí jámy vznikly propadem stropů komor vytěžených cínových rud. Propadlina je asi 120 metrů dlouhá, hluboká 20 metrů.
After about 1.3 km of uphill travel we reached the Wolf Pits. I was surprised how big they are.
The Wolf Pits were formed by the collapse of the ceilings of chambers of mined tin ores. The sinkhole is about 120 metres long, 20 metres deep.
Cestou dál k vrcholu je na trase další propadlina a to Ledová jáma, která je hluboká asi 20 metrů. Je velmi úzká a led a sníh na jejím dně neroztává ani během léta.
On the way to the summit there is another sinkhole on the trail, the Ice Pit, which is about 20 meters deep. It is very narrow and the ice and snow at the bottom does not melt even during the summer.
K vrcholu už zbývá jen několik desítek metrů.
Na vrcholu Blatenského vrchu je postavena 21 metrů vysoká rozhledna. Postavena byla v roce 1912.
Ve vstupní části rozhledny je v místnosti něco k historii a dál již vede klasické točivé schodiště.
Z rozhledny je docela krásný výhled, který trochu ruší množství různých antén.
There are only a few tens of metres to the summit.
There is a 21-metre high lookout tower on the top of Blatenský vrch. It was built in 1912.
In the entrance part of the tower there is a history room and further on there is a classic spiral staircase.
The view from the tower is quite beautiful, which is somewhat disturbed by the many different antennas.
Dál jsme pokračovali asi 500 metrů po stezce Via Czechia a poté odbočili na pěknou, neoznačenou lesní cestu, kde jsme byli sami a došli až k Blatenskému příkopu.
We continued along the Via Czechia trail for about 500 meters and then turned onto a nice, unmarked forest path where we were alone and came to the Blaten Ditch.
Blatenský vodní příkop je technickou kulturní památkou, je dlouhý 12 km. Zásoboval vodou krušnohorské doly a později průmyslové závody.
The Blatná moat is a technical cultural monument, it is 12 km long. It supplied water to the Ore Mountain mines and later to industrial plants.
Podél příkopu jsme šli asi 1 km, než jsme odbočili na cestu zpátky k parkovišti. Cestou jsme ještě minuli štolu Vavřinec a jezírko Černé.
We walked along the ditch for about 1 km before turning onto the road back to the car park. On the way we passed the Lawrence adit and the Black pond.
