Running with an ice bath at the beautiful Almsee!

Hello to all!

I love being out in nature and experiencing great adventures. Whether it's summer or winter, every season has its own special features and there are great opportunities for outdoor activities. A few days ago, I was out and about at the beautiful Almsee lake. One of the most beautiful lakes in Austria, a natural gem in the Almtal valley of the same name with the so-called “Totes Gebirge” mountains as a backdrop.

I took advantage of the beautiful day to go for a run around the Almsee with my friends. The path around the lake is like a cross-country run that even includes a few short meters of elevation gain. At the end, you return to the starting point along the road. The circular route around the Almsee is around 6 kilometers long.

The sporting activity was followed by a well-deserved cool-down in the form of an ice bath session. The lake was almost completely frozen, only in a few places was the water free of ice where we could get into the lake. The Almsee is under strict nature protection, which is why swimming in the lake is prohibited. However, you are allowed to cool off on the lake shore, which is why we didn't do anything illegal. If you can get over yourself once, then ice swimming is really fun. The adrenaline literally shoots through your veins and afterwards you feel like a new person.

Very beautiful view of snow mountain my friend

Thank you :)

That first shot is really cool. Everything looks blue 💪

The shots in the water look cool too, but in a totally different way 🤣

Thank you! Yeah that´s right 😃

It is a beitiffull place. Thank you

Awesome place, the contrast of the cold water to snowy mountain scenery highlights the beauty of the natural environment. You have great photos. I cannot stay for a minute to dive in a frozen lake the cold is deep bone.

Thank you! It´s just training 😜
